I like how he calls it a "culture", though (albeit a sad one...). Like it's a way of life or something. Perhaps he knows what goes on in the phandom more than we realize.

Meh...

Well apparently he has a team of digital analysts keeping tabs on what the phans say, so I'm sure he has an inkling of what goes on. And that inkling is whatever data they feed to him, so it's probably slightly skewed or, at least, incomplete.
