ON THIS DAY: 60 years ago, the Beatles performed on the Ed Sullivan Show for the first time; thus not only marking their official US debut, but the start of a cultural phenomenon that would change Pop music as we know it forever... THE BRITISH INVASION!!! 🎉🇬🇧🎸🎸🎸🥁

I just read that "Now and Then" is on its way to becoming number one in the UK. This proves that the Beatles are still relevant today.

As someone who has been to the UK and saw plenty of Beatles merch in just about every souvenir shop, I'm not really surprised. This is BLOODY AMAZING!!!6 months ago
Now and Then is one of the most beautiful Beatles songs ever written! And the perfect way to end there amazing story. Well done lads! 🎸🎸🎸🥁 (The video also hits ya in the feels! Be prepared! 😭❤️)

OMG, Ringo is ill! He had to cancel performances due to health concerns! It's not Covid but no one's really sure what it is. Let's hope he feels better! Get well sweet Ringo! 💐💖🙏

It's hard to believe it's been forty-one years now. I never knew John. In fact, I wasn't even born when that evil, ugly monster murdered him. Still, I ache inside, wishing John was here today.over a year ago
We all do. We have reached a heartbreaking milestone where John has been dead longer than he has been alive, but in the hearts of all of his fans, his spirit lives on.over a year ago
I'm sure he does. His message was about love. Even if it doesn't seem like it all the time, love triumphs over hate. Nobody, not even the biggest haters on the planet, can ever destroy that.over a year ago
Oh, George. Hard to believe it's been exactly twenty years since you left us, and yet, we still miss you deeply. Although I never got to know you personally, I've always been touched by your kindness and love for others. Rest well, sweet Georgie. God Bless you now and forever! 🙏💖💐🇬🇧
My thoughts and prayers go out to Olivia, Dhani, Ringo, Paul, and the rest of his loved ones during this difficult day.

Has it really been twenty years? George was gone way too soon, but he will never be forgotten. He was an excellent songwriter. Most of my favorite Beatles songs were songs that he wrote. We love you, George!over a year ago
I'm in tears as I type this in disbelief that George has been gone for twenty years. He and John live on through their music and in the hearts of loyal fans. Cancer is such a cruel disease. My heart goes out to anyone who has lost a loved one to cancer.over a year ago
So, now that Paddington 2 has been knocked out of the top movie list spot, how about putting a Beatles film there instead! 😁💗😎🦋🎉✨

There was a recent article about the Beatles called 'The Rise and Fall Of The Beatles'... I'm sorry did hell freeze over or something!? 😂🤣🙄

Warning to Beatles fans! There is a bio of John Lennon from 2008 by a nut job author who states that John sold his soul to be famous and based on hidden messages and numerology that his death was coming! Clear example of exploitation of a beloved icon. Very sad and infuriating! 😢😡

Absolutely! I mean John might've used a psychic to find out if it was safe to fly but secret codes and devil worship!? That's total B.S! 🤬🤬over a year ago
I just found out that a thriller/mystery author is writing a book about the last days of John Lennon. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I'm so frustrated! Pinterest keeps taking down Beatle pics cause the user wasn't authorized to post them! Why doesn't the site just check them out before allowing them to be pinned!? Are they trying to drive me crazy!!!! 😡
Posted over a year ago
There has got to be a better way to enforce copyright, I've said it for a long time! Surely there's some system that makes sure everyone gets proper credit while still allowing us all to enjoy what we love! In the meantime, I know it doesn't help with the pictures you already lost, but I can suggest maybe saving all the Beatles pictures you find from now on to your computer as soon as you see them. That way if Pinterest takes them down later, you'll still have them.over a year ago
I know right? The worse part is I never know until months later and they don't tell me all of the photos. They just take down pics. And I've thought about that and I may have to do that.over a year ago
Outrageous! Drake just declared he's just as famous as the Beatles cause' he's rich?! Are you kidding me!? I don't think so! 🤣😝😡

I just hope Drake will get so much backlash from that attitude that his fame plummets to the ground and dies, and there comes a new age of Beatlemania as all the people's love of the Fab Four is rekindled by their fury.over a year ago
I've always hated Beatle slash but Beatle slash gifs! How insulting and cruel can you get!? This is a mockery of their friendship and brotherhood and it's totally false!!!!! ENOUGH!!!! 😡

We've had a lot of sweet pictures of the Beatles interacting with their child fans - does anyone know any good pictures of the Beatles interacting with their teenage fans? I'd like to see some of that! I think I have one or two to start with.

I heard a rumour that there is some sort of Global Beatles Day today - if it's true, everyone have a happy one! If it isn't true, can we lobby to make it true??

Imagine if you were suddenly transported to the sixties and the Beatles found you, and just started acting like they know you and expected you would come with them because you always do....
My ideal scenario would also involve them acting like we all already knew I was John's girlfriend/wife....
Posted over a year ago
Oh wow! That would be cool! I think my ideal scenario would be I was their best and closest friend and it was insisted I travel with them everywhere including concerts! OMG that would be so cool!!!!!!!over a year ago
Has anyone else ever heard somebody laughing at the way Beatles Fans act around the Fab Four, and felt very offended? They will laugh when they hear how girls scream at Beatles concerts or run after the boys or hide in the air ducts trying to catch a glimpse of them - and why is that funny?! It's a very special way of showing the genuine love we feel for them, and besides, if I were there, I would have done those exact same things.
Posted over a year ago
They are. People should sympathize with the fans, loving the Beatles so much and doing whatever they could just to get near them. They should admire the fans, for being so loyal and determined!over a year ago
I agree but consider this those people laughing are either jealous boys or haters who just don't get the fan's love and appreciation for the Beatles. And they don't deserve our time, they're just losers! Plain and simple!over a year ago
Seriously, this cannot be fair! Rotten Tomatoes gives Citizen Kane 100% and A Hard Day's Night only gets 98%? What!? Something's wrong here!

Film angles - that's got to be just about the least important part of a movie. I can't believe anyone ever noticed that - the only time I ever noticed the film angles in a movie was because they were so bad they looked ridiculous.over a year ago
FYI: Important news for those who read or write Beatle fics! I just joined Wattpad and have discovered they have Beatle fics! So if you read or write Beatle fics this might be a good second outlet for you.😊 So feel free to check it out if you like. 😊

Okay, please tell me if I'm overreacting. But I'm so tired of the jokes made on pinterest about George's eating habits! They're so mean! And who cares! Let him eat! He's normal! The man worked hard all day, he was always on the go, what was wrong with him grabbing a bite? I mean seriously!? Ugh!!!
Posted over a year ago
I don't think they mean it bad - at least I hope not! But I can see why it would be tiresome after hearing too much about it. I never knew how much of what I heard about George's eating habits to believe - I figure it had to be exaggerated, but if it is true he really loved his food and it's not just that there were a lot of pictures taken of him eating - well, nothing wrong with that! I like the thought of a fellow foodie in the Beatles.over a year ago
Well, some jokes aren't that bad. I'm talking about the ones that are just horrid and immature. And I agree I like the thought of George being a foodie, too! I think that's really cool!over a year ago
OMG! I had a teacher a few years ago that swore she met George in 1963 when she was little. At first I thought she was mistaken but recently I read about George's first visit to America...and I think she might've been actually telling the truth! I'm freaking out, now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine meeting George Harrison or any Beatle like that!? *sigh* Some people have all the luck!
Posted over a year ago
Oh. My. God!!!! Your teacher is so lucky to have met George! Meeting him or any of the other Beatles would be one of the greatest events to happen in my life! *Squeals*over a year ago
I know! God, what an opportunity of a lifetime! I think I would faint or scream in the poor man's ear (lol!) Either way it would be the happiest day of my life! <3 <3over a year ago
I know! I get insanely excited and jealous whenever I even hear of someone being in the same room as the Beatles! Imagine actually meeting one... it would be the happiest moment of my life, but I think I would spend the whole time screaming until he would slowly back away!over a year ago
I know right? And I probably would do the same thing except I probably would be hopping up and down and not letting go of his arm (lol!) But can you blame me? <3 <3over a year ago
I really hate it when people who claim to be 'friends' of the Beatles or they so called knew the Beatles and then they start writing books or telling blatant lies about them particularly about John and George. I mean why would you do that? If you're their friend or whatever why would you hurt them? That's so wrong! And sometimes these people never even knew the Beatles which makes it worse! How tacky!
Posted over a year ago
I don't think anyone who's really a friend of the Beatles has ever written a book about them, because if they did, they wouldn't try and make their lives so depressing, would they? It's just people who met them before claiming to be their "friends" to make money off of them, no doubt. Especially since the Beatles were a perfect example of what real friendship should be, that's despicable.over a year ago
I hear that Paul has published a board book. If it's true, that's the first time in a long time I've wanted to read a board book!

I hear tell that there are going to be some unreleased tracks from the White Album released soon. Does anyone know anything about that?
Posted over a year ago
It would. I would love to have new Beatles songs! I hope the tracks will be nice and not show any of the fighting from around that time, though....over a year ago
Yeah, that would be nice. I just hope we'll be able to hear them. Some of these old recordings can be poor quality sometimes. I'll be disappointed if I can't hear anything.over a year ago
I hadn't even thought of that. Mind you, there are some songs I've heard the Beatles wrote in their early years and never released themselves, and if there's a recording anywhere that's actually them playing the songs, I want to hear it no matter how bad the quality is!over a year ago
True, I just meant that I hope it's not so staticy that I can't hear them sing but I'm sure they'll remaster it. :) And I agree I want to hear them too, no matter what! <3 <3over a year ago
I just saw something that said one reason the Beatles were so popular was because they lasted much longer than most things did - but then it went on to say that Beatlemania lasted three years, ending in 1967! Is that true? Has Beatlemania actually been gone for fifty-one years? I thought it was still around today - look at us, there are still fan clubs for them and everything! Are we really living in a world without Beatlemania??
Posted over a year ago
I wonder why people say things like that? It starts out like they're going to give the Beatles a compliment, and then they come out with something like this. :(over a year ago
No way! Beatlemania is still going on! It's out there, artists still talk about them, their music is still selling, their web sites, fan clubs, even a radio station just for them! Whoever said that is an out of date idiot! Don't even worry about them, hun!over a year ago
I heard something yesterday about the 50th anniversary of the Hey Jude single. Was that yesterday, does anyone know? What date was Hey Jude released? I know its fiftieth anniversary would be this year, of course.
Posted over a year ago
I think it 'Hey Jude' was released on August 26, 1968 in the U.S and August 30, 1968 in the U.K but I wouldn't swear to it. But I hope that helps :)over a year ago
Okay, I thought there was nothing worse than Beatle slash but some idiot just posted on pinterest the Beatles as women!!! If you are going to mess with the Beatles then you are NOT a Beatles fan and you need to leave them alone! This is just stupid and mean and cruel and disgusting! And needs to stop!
Posted over a year ago
I know! I mean if a woman wants to cosplay a Beatles outfit, that's perfectly fine but this was just wrong on so many levels! I couldn't even speak I was so horrified!over a year ago
^ Exactly. I hate trolling of great people or characters. It annoys the fans, too. What kind of a jerk should that person be?! I feel angry whenever people troll about great people or things. I feel annoyed whenever some people who brand themselves are 'artists' potray the Disney princesses as LGBT, nude or just something offensive as much as I feel when some people troll Lionel Messi (one of my favourite soccer players) for a tiny mistake! Back to the beatles, I am really shocked how the person can insult such a great bandover a year ago
I know right? Makes no sense and if someone is going to stoop that low they have no right to call themselves a fan, a jerk, sure! But not a fan!over a year ago
Can you believe that neither A Hard Day's Night nor Help! won the Best Picture Oscar in their respective years? I mean, what were the people thinking?! How can you even consider giving the award to anything else when the BEATLES released a movie that year?!
Posted over a year ago
Wouldn't it be neat if they made an animated show about the Beatles, and got Paul and Ringo to voice their younger selves? Then Paul could also double as John's voice and Ringo as George's - or the other way around. The Beatles Cartoons had two voice actors for four Beatles, so we know it can work! I think it'd be great to watch that.

I just found out that George helped Ringo write some of his songs including Octopus's Garden. I love how the Beatles helped each other and were always there for each other! And still are! Like a Beatle family!

If they were still together, I wonder if their albums would have eventually had any combination of their names in the songwriting credits? Or maybe they'd just start putting Lennon/McCartney/Harrison/Starr on everything. I like to think that they would.over a year ago
Yes, I do. As a matter of fact, Please Please Me has already turned 55 this March 22. With the Beatles was also released on November 22.over a year ago

I don't know if this has happened yet, or not but I think the Beatles deserve a special Oscar. I mean what music group were also amazing actors like the Beatles? They were so natural and genuine in front of the camera, I mean why not? I think that would be awesome! Besides they're movies were amazing and no other group has had the same success in film or music as the Beatles. I think they deserve it!

I get so angry when people who call themselves Beatle fans post mean, unfunny images of the Beatles on Pinterest. I mean how can you call yourself a Beatles fan when you're doing stuff like that!? They're not true Beatles fans, they're fakers! And they should be ashamed of themselves!
Posted over a year ago
Ugh, those people sound disgusting. Some people think all you need is a passing knowledge of the band to be a fan. How can they justify calling themselves fans if they don't love the Beatles?! And the people you're describing clearly don't.over a year ago
I know right? Some people are just rude and want to cause trouble and make people angry because they have no life! They probably know nothing of the Beatles, anyway! Just a bunch of whiny haters!over a year ago
I know! Not only is it a colourful feast for the eyes, we get to see John defeat a mean blue glove, Ringo being so sweet and caring, Paul with that heart-melting wink, George so calm as he floats down from the Sergeant Pepper statue and such, and all the Beatles saving Pepperland!over a year ago
I saw this post on Pinterest yesterday talking about fans of bands - not any particular band, just bands in general - and it said something along the lines of, "One day, we'll take down the posters and move on, but we will never forget them". And I thought, "Maybe that's how Beatles Fans are different. Because maybe you will take the posters down and move on one day, but I never will."
