Even if I didn't love Severus as much as I do, I'd still chose him 'cuz, man, that elf just irritated me.

^ And I thought that was just me! I'm very uncomfortable with the whole elves idea in HP. It really rubs me the wrong way. Probably because I have a lot of living family members who lived through the whole colonial thing. I find the fact that no one else makes a fuss about it and just accepts the whole "it's what they want even though they're under an enchantment that makes them want to be subservient to wizardkind" off putting. Dobby specially ticks me off because he is free yet still bends backwards to serve those who are oppressing his "people"
