Well, it's official; the show is no more. Shame. That's okay though, it had a good run; 3 seasons, 65 episodes. Still, it would've been nice to see how living next door to the pound would've worked for Lucky and Dot. :)

Finally watched "No Dogs Allowed" and "I Heard the Barks on Christmas Eve." Too lazy to formulate a personal review of them right now, but the adoptee cameo appearances in the latter episode made my day. As for where I've been all of this time: I'm really enjoying Littlest Pet Shop. Has some potential going for it. Anyway, it looks like I have stuff to catch up on regarding this show. That's absolutely marvelous.over a year ago
They took down "Pound Preemies," probably realized that they put it up too early. I have to wonder, what's going on with the Hub's PR department? They just now put up previews for episodes that came out a week ago on YouTube.over a year ago
Well, despite what the doubters at Toonzone thought, The Hub really did honor the voting results. In the U.S. broadcast, the name of the pup is "Cinnamon". When the episode aired in Canada, his name was Velet Belly.over a year ago
I slept in this morning and since I was in California and my DVR's back in Vegas, I couldn't catch "Barks on Christmas Eve" until now (whose idea was it to air Pound Puppies at 6 in the morning? I did catch MLP and LPS, though). That said, what were your thoughts on the episode? I'm a sucker for continuity nods, so the entire scene with all those pups made me smile. And McLeish's scene was heartwarming, even if it was a bit OOC. The episode would have been great as a season finale.

I enjoyed the episode. In "McLeish Unleashed" it was shown that he had a soft spot for dogs, and in "Good Dog McLeish" they hinted that McLeish was lonely, so in a way, they were building up to this episode's ending. I too, loved seeing all those pups from previous episodes. I think that this episode was intended to be the season finale, but it was aired out of order.over a year ago
Kind of reminds me of a Late 90's-New Millenium Christmas special, like the ones I grew up on. I keep thinking "All Dogs Christmas Carol", for some reason. According to Wikipedia, this episode was produced first.over a year ago

I was watching the Hub this morning when a Pound Puppies commercial came on. Although I'm not sure if there are any episodes in between, a new episode airs on December 1st. The audience also gets to decide the puppy's name at [link .

Ooh, thanks for the link. The episode will be Pound Preemies. One of the names in the poll was used in the Canadian broadcast of the episode. This must be why The Hub didn't air it yet; they wanted to have the viewer choose a name. I imagine that the had the voice actress recorded all of these names and they will insert the winning name in the US airing of the episode.over a year ago
Over on the Toon Zone forums, it was suggested that the voting may not have any real impact on the episode, and that its only a "vote for who you think will win". Even if this is true, I'm still glad to see The Hub giving attention to Pound Puppiesover a year ago
Looks like we can expect a Season 3 soon enough--link (skip to page 7). "For Q4 2012, the breakdown for major projects over $0.10 million for DHX Vancouver was...$0.65 million for Pound Puppies Seasons 1-3."

I just sent an e-mail to the senior vice president of programming for The Hub Network inquiring about the "Pound Preemies" episode, and asking if it will air in the U.S. this season. I'm not sure if I will get a response, but I figure that its worth a try. This SVP had responded to me earlier this year, when I had contacted the Hub telling them how much I love their Pound Puppies show.

Well, she said; "Thank you for writing about your fondness for our new "Pound Puppies" series. We, too, love it. Yes it is coming back for a second season – we've been busy bees, writing and animating. Our new summer schedule launches June 2 – I think you'll like what you see there. Thanks for the Hub-Love!" Of course, at that time, I already knew that season 2 was coming, but it was still a nice response.over a year ago
This either means that Pound Preemies is the season finale, or that the MSN website info (November 24 for Barks on Christmas Eve) isn't accurate. Either way, it's nice to hear from Ms. Ebbs.over a year ago

Our usernames are very similar. I checked with my provider's guide, there don't seem to be any new episodes from between now and the 18th, unfortunately. The FiM premier has been semi-confirmed to be in November, it's likely that the Pound Puppies finale will be around the same time.over a year ago

Wait..I just realized, in the last epiosde, the new puppies said that they lived in a yellow building. So, I'm willing to bet that dogs are not colorblind on this show. However, like in real life, they can't readover a year ago
Woooow. My fanfiction was under the assumption that dogs could neither read nor see in color. Contemplating whether I should make an author's note in the summary/description or change it to meet correctness for the show. Unless I could go on the fact that the dog saying that its house was yellow is rather vague; they could have overheard it in a conversation their owner was having, and just went with it. They all lived in the same yellow building, right? (Sorry, I still haven't seen the new episode yet, and I'm implicitly assuming that the puppies in question had an owner, but were brought to the shelter as the "No Dogs Allowed" rule came to be in that area)over a year ago
Aaaaand, after observations, they are most definitely not colorblind. I had a feeling in my gut that it was hinted at or mentioned somewhere in Episode 1 that the dogs could see in color, and that feeling was correct. First, there were the exhibits: a painting of a boy, a tree, and a sunset. The last was pretty straightforward, but before that, none of the paintings were monochromatic (in one color with different shades), and the "detail" was far too precise to be coincidental (e.g. accurate color depiction on the boy; blue pants, white shirt, etc.). Soon, Lucky got around to mentioning that the boy's dad drove a yellow truck. That implies an unequivocal answer to my question: Yes, the dogs of this show can see in color, as mentioned as early on as S1EP1. At this point, I'm certain it's been hinted at or implied in many other episodes, but my mind went blank as soon as I formed the question.over a year ago
I'm also going to edit my fanfiction for sake of a desired continuity, now, but hopefully it isn't too drastic of a change to its plot. Luckily, color wasn't really a factor until chapter three!over a year ago
I think it's worth mentioning, dogs in real life aren't really colorbind in the sense that they can only see in black and white. I believe that they are red-green colorblind, meaning that they have a hard time distinguishing reds and greens. That red ball you threw on the grass? Your dog can't see it.over a year ago
That's a big help, thank you so much. I'll take that into account when I'm making my edits. That said, I'll have to postpone putting up chapter three until the edits are done. Shouldn't take longer than the weekend, but we'll see. Again, thanks to you both.over a year ago
I fear that we might be in for another break this week. So far, I have not been able to find any info on the next new episode from any of the usual TV guide websites. Although I suppose there is still a chance the info could show up.

I wonder what the reason is. Nevertheless, two episodes left for this season. All hope on them providing an outstanding closing to it, and hopefully there's some attention gained between then and S3.over a year ago
I was thinking, since there are two episodes left to air this season. Perhaps the season finale will be in two parts. But that's just wishful thinking.over a year ago

"Accidental Pup Star" was pretty fun, but its plot was rather predictable once McLeish began attempting to exploit Reboud's talent. The song was catchy. LYRICS PLZ.

No worries. It wasen't a new episode. It was a rerun of the season 2 premire episode. From what I've heard, it may also be a rerun next Saturday as well.over a year ago
Having mixed feelings about that. I'm overjoyed that I didn't miss anything yesterday, but I'm also apprehensive and questioning how the producers are going to compensate for (possibly) two weeks of no new episodes; the deadline for this season is August 25th, and there are still 4 episodes left to air. I mean, unless they extend the deadline, but I'd also like them to explain the small downtime that they may be having right now.over a year ago
I have to agree. Its concerned me a bit as well. I think it has something to do with synergy for the "PUP-ularity" contest. On the 25th, there will be a Pound Puppies marathon, ending with a new episode.over a year ago
Ah, I forgot to take that into account, thanks for mentioning it. If anything, I wouldn't mind them extending the deadline, I just don't want anything to go amiss. I'll have faith in it, though, can't wait for the new episodes.over a year ago
"Squawk" was absolute hilarity, I can only wish it was a two-parter. Like last week's episode, it seemed a bit rushed toward the end, but I found this one much more enjoyable. I lost my dog biscuits when I saw returning faces in that crowd, especially Trevor and Brutus from "Zipper the Zoomit Dog." Overall, I don't have much gripe with this episode, so fun. Great for this season.
Posted over a year ago
I noticed Trevor and Brutus too! Some things in this epsiode seemed a little under-develoed to me. But I blame that on the fact that there is only so much that the writers can do with a 20 minute story, over a year ago
Yeah, it lacked development because it was somewhat hasted. As for what's to blame, I must disagree. Stated above, this episode in particular could have been segmented; I really don't think two-part stories are out of the question for this show. I'd much rather watch the story unfold unequivocally than have everything meshed into one episode, with chunks and pieces missing (due to time constraints), making for a weaker episode overall.over a year ago
"I really don't think two-part stories are out of the question for this show." Oh yes, I agree. That's basically what I meant. :) It would be great to see a two part episode sometime.over a year ago
Yeah, if not this season, hopefully S3 promises some. Also amongst the crowd (from what I made out): Kiki (Olaf in Love), Sarge (K9 Kid), Lucky (Taboo), Sterling Von Oxnard (My Fair Rebound), and a few other adoptees (I forgot the name of 'em). --- I also think that the episodes could be more character based, like "I Never Barked for my Father" or "The Prince and the Pupper." Episodes that set a character forth for some development; I still find half the main cast to be fairly obscure.over a year ago
I don't think they'd retcon a character like Dot, but yeah, I'd like to see her again sometime to confirm my thought, however. --- Still contemplating a Pound Puppies fanfiction, don't really know how it'll go.over a year ago
I found yesterday's episode, "Salty", to be a relatively weak episode for this season. It just seemed a tad hasted, along with some other things I found odd.
Posted over a year ago
Yeah, that theme hasn't been touched since "Bone Voyage." I still find the fisherman's voice to be laughable. Patches and Cupcake sure did take a punch or two on those tests, lol.over a year ago
Yeah, I don't think the episode will be utterly directed at them, but then again, I wouldn't mind if it was. It'd expound Cupcake and Patches a bit more in terms of character, which I think they both need; Patches is still a mysterious character to me, I feel like I could know more about him. We'll just have to see how things play out. Less than three days 'til!over a year ago
Here's an updated synopsis; "While the Pound Puppies search for the missing dog Cuddlesworth, the Super Secret Pup Club are initiated into a fancy dog club led by a mysterious founder." Could this be the same Cuddlesworth from the early season 1 episode "The Prince and the Pupper"? It sure sounds like it!over a year ago
LOL, HOLY CRAP CUDDLESWORTH. I think it'll be the same Cuddlesworth from S1, so I'm quite stoked for this episode. Can't wait worth a hill o' beans.over a year ago
EPISODE WAS GREAT. The Cuddlesworth, the Julius, the escapades, the everything. I laughed so damn hard when Cuddlesworth "marked his territory" with a scented candle. That was rich, same to the dogs taking offense to the term "pussycat." Comical. The episode itself is oriented around the qualms and repercussions of peer pressure. As for Cuddlesworth, it's just another moment of misadventure for him, before he inevitably came to understand that what he sought was out of his element, again. Overall, really good episode. I was very happy to see some returning faces, though the episode seems to be directed more at Rebound, rather than the SSPC as a whole. That was unexpected. THE SONG WAS COOL. CAN'T FORGET TO MENTION THAT ONE, LOL.over a year ago
Yeah, it was a fun one. I agree, it was great to see some characters from season 1 come back. It gives me hope that other season 1 characters will show up in the future.over a year ago
Yeah, it was a really fun episode for me. Finally getting to see Olaf's wife(?) again since her debut. I absolutely loved the inside pun where the team snickered and giggle at Lucky saying "We need to find a way to fix it." That. Was. Gold. I'll have to get pictures later, mom sent me off to bed during my second run through the episode.over a year ago
Finally got around to snappin' some photos, and watching the episode in full, uninterrupted. I didn't get something: since they seemed to have been gone for a full day, how did Olaf not notice their disappearance? He only had one day off, and, considering how long it took for them to get to Milwaukee, surely he would have noticed something was afoot. Oh, and before McLeish was snapped from his hypnosis, he tackled that dog catcher through a metal fence. Holy crap. WWE sign ups are that-a way, Leonard. xDover a year ago
Well, maybe Olaf just took more than one day off. :D Heck, we also didn't see any of the other shelter dogs in this episode. They must have had a day off as well! Oh well, there is just only so much that the writers can do with a 20 minute story. By the way, great pictures!over a year ago
I really loved "There's Something About Camelia", it was comical. The part where the dog catcher ate Olaf's drumstick without asking... solid humor. xD Glad you got to see 'em, though, can't wait for tomorrow's episode.over a year ago
