I think there's a chance. I'm honestly not a huge fan of having too many alicorns in the show (those creatures are overpowered!) but I'm also a bit confused as to how alicorns come about, anyway.

I agree there's a good chance their kid could be Skyla, to tie in the show's canon with the merchandise, so I'm wondering if, maybe princesses (who are already alicorns) can give birth to other alicorn princesses? That'd make sense!

But Twilight, as we know, wasn't born into royalty and had to earn her princess title, which automatically turned her into an alicorn.

Either way, if her kid is not born an alicorn, they will likely transform into one at some point in their life!

Princess Cadance does NOT have alicorn blood. We know she was originally a pegasus pony before she was ascended to princess state. I know Shining Armor's a unicorn, but there was a stranger outcome of child from a certain bakers couple. Someone's great-great-great-great grandfather was a unicorn, and the other's ancestor was a pegasus pony that is said other's great aunt's second cousin twice removed.
