She would become jealous at the fact she wasn't invited to the party, so she would then cast a curse on whoever the party was meant for. Plus, she has an owl as a pet. Maleficent had a raven. It fits too perfectly.

....Though, Pinkie could also work as Maleficent. Imagine how pissed she would be if SHE wasn't invited to a party. She would throw curses all over the place.
(And by "curses" I mean magical curses. Not bad words :P)
