He's decent. I don't really pay much attention to him, probably because he isn't in the show a whole lot of the time. But he isn't average, and he definitely isn't terrible enough to boot him out of the show. His character can sometimes have really funny moments, though ;)

I know this is saying ALOT but in all honesty I'm not sure if I would be watching this show if not for Spike. He levels out the characters personalities with a boyish personality and charm, and is really deep with some of his lines and then just some of his actions if you can spot them out. I enjoy his style of comic relief, especially when he gets paired up with Pinkie and their personalities clash. Spike makes this show for me. Sooo-- yes.I LOVE MY SPIKEY WIKEY! ( And dont get me wrong, I like the other ponies to xD)

I've always loved dragons. Especially cute, cartoony dragons.

I also like that there is a male character who is perfectly fine with having a group of female best friends.

Plus, his personality is really fun. He shares quite a few traits with Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie - both of which are very different to Twilight, so there's a good contrast between Twilight's character and Spike's character.

He's cool, even though he can be negative sometimes. At least he's letting others know to take him seriously. I do, despite his small and cute size.
