So glad you asked this question! I want Lily Blossom to be in the show because she is such a cute character. She has a beautiful blond mane and I'd like to know more about her. Plus I ship her with Shining Armor.

^ They wouldn't be mere recolors in the show...the vector images are, and the toys kind of are, because the makers of those are apparently a bit lazy, lol...but the show's creators try to individualize the ponies more. Blossomforth showed up in "Hurricane Fluttershy," and she looked different from her toy form...which, although it's a Fluttershy recolor, still has different hair and is pretty unique. Most of the toys actually are significantly different from the mane six characters and thus believable on their own as separate "characters." (I'm looking at my Cherry Pie, Feathermay, Blossomforth, and Dewdrop Dazzle right now--I have to say, I'm quite impressed with them.)
