Waaaaw.. christmas sooooon guys (: i feel like i owe you all something for being so amazing but i cant think of anything to give you :( bad times. ehehe, ENJOY!
My eyes flicked through the crowd, searching for any sign of Will. I scanned over the heads of people looking for his soft, hazel hair with thistle-like-strands. I didn’t like being on my own in thick crowds, anything could happen. A fight. Pick-pockets.
‘Ok, Ash? Can I trust you to stay here for 5 minutes?’ Will’s voice sounded loudly from around the corner, instantly making me feel at ease.
‘Yeah, sure. Why? Didn’t you get our tickets?’ He came towards me, trying to slide through the mass of people. His voice didn’t reach me until he was stood safely by my side but by then none of our voices could have been heard over the whistle of a train. We pushed ourselves up against the brick wall while it screeched to a halt. I jumped into Will, scared half to death by the sheer speed of the train, but all I got as a reply was a raspy chuckle.
‘Just stay here and don’t move, ok?’ Will ordered me while briefly glancing around the dense groups of men and women going about their daily lives. Before I could even open my mouth to ask him where he was going, he had been swept away by the current of people swarming into the station entrance. I didn’t know what to do with myself so decided I should stand somewhere a little less crowded. I peered down the platform and saw a small opening in the wall further down. Wanting to reach the safety of the tunnel, I faced head on to the crowd and managed to slip my way into the small ally which was practically empty. I didn’t want Will to lose me so I stuck my head out a little to give him some indication of where to find me. Everything seemed to echo down the tunnel so I flicked my hood up and bundled my only pair of earphones into my ears, leaving me to think in peace.
‘Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt.’ The soft voice swam around my head, turning my insides to honey. My poor heart thudded under my skin in response to his tender words.
‘Dylan,’ I breathed in relief but soon realised I was in public and returned to speaking silently. ‘I never thought you would come back.’
‘You never called me. I guessed you needed to clear some things up.’ I didn’t dare think about his words while he was still inside me, he would know otherwise. I had missed him though; leaving me like that hadn’t exactly put my mind at rest.
‘I’m sorry, Ash. I only went to protect you.’
‘Yeah, everything seems to be about that lately. When exactly are you going to tell me what the danger is?’ Neither Will nor Dylan had told me a thing up till now, if only they would then maybe I could help.
‘No Ash. You’re not helping, it’s too dangerous. I would never put you in harms way.’ His voice echoed with terror and determination.
‘I’ll decide that when you tell me.’ I heard a faint sigh from Dylan and knew I was about to find out.
‘Ok. The night I… died, I was hit. The men who were driving the car knew me as your boyfriend. One of their friends hated me for being with you, so they hit me. Purposely. They had driven up and down that street continuously waiting for me and when I stepped onto that road… well, you know what happened.’ I was stunned. Processing the words through my mind was impossible.
‘They did what!?’ Trying to grasp the concept of someone purposely taking him away from me was far from possible. How could someone take such an innocent soul away from life and reduce him to this existence.
‘Aislinn. No! You will not seek revenge, they’re dangerous.’
‘An eye for an eye, D.’
‘If that was the case wouldn’t everyone be blind?’ He got me again, I could never win against Dylan, but that doesn’t mean I don’t try. Trying to push the argument further would have been my next move but a shady figure appeared at the opening to the tunnel. Their rugged outline grew more intimating with each step and I presumed they were heading towards me so I flicked my hood down and found my earphones. As I took them out I noticed he was constantly looking around as if someone was watching him. Out of habit, I followed his line of sight but only to see an empty tunnel with just me and him. Each step that brought him closer to me only caused my curiosity to spike. It wasn’t until I saw his eyes that I felt the urge stay a little longer. They were Dylan’s eyes only more captivating. I scrutinized his likeness but found flaws in them. Dylan’s eyes would of been soulful and filled with emotions but these were flat and senseless and pierced me with fear. Looking into Dylan’s eyes would of made me feel like I was drowning in pools of soft honey, they made me feel breathless and warm inside. He stalked towards me, only coming to a halt when he was stood in front of me. His tall figure meant he towered over me but only his face could be seen, everything else was covered up with coats or hats or gloves.
‘Hello’ His voice was deep and throaty but not in a way that made me want melt, it made me want to run. ‘Do you know where platform 5 is?’ He looked deep into me making me feel unnaturally intimidated.
‘No. Say no.’ Dylan intervened harshly which stunned me for a spilt second, leaving me speechless. The stranger stared at me expectantly.
‘Um… No, no I don’t. Sorry.’ I started backing away, step by step, each time closing the distance between me and a crowd full of witnesses.
‘Do you mind showing me where the ticket booth is then, please?’ His alluring voice didn’t convince me like he wanted it to. All I wanted was to get out and away from him.
‘Ash, stop. Don’t move.’ Dylan barked again. I stopped abruptly but the guy still advanced on me, pushing me towards the wall. I didn’t realise how close I was until I felt my hands touch the cold, hard bricks. His shaky breath skimmed my head and the strong, sugary smell of alcohol floated around me. I whipped my head back but was met by something painfully hard. I heard the crack from my skull as it took the impact and I suddenly felt as if I had been kicked by a horse. My hand flew to my head as I buried it into my hair but to find a wet, warm liquid oozing out. It soaked into my scalp and as I took my hand away he grabbed it. I tried to pull it away but he only tightened his grip on me even more, cutting off my blood supply. I tried to yank it away once more but I could feel my heart thumping in my head as it swam around inside. I closed my eyes and my whole world seemed to spin around me in an unreal dizziness and I could hardly stand straight. I opened my eyes to check this was all real but the ground seemed to come at me so fast I hardly had time to put my hands out. I was knocked into the darkness with another crack as my leg twisted backwards. The last thing I felt was my leg with some sort of sharp pressure inflicted onto it causing it to snap. I screamed in agony and fell into the night.
