Chapter 2 of The Necklace . Sorry it took so long to post. I've been really busy. Well, enjoy.
----------------------------------------------------------
George opened the folder and began to look through it, in hope that he'll find out more about this necklace thing. "No. No. No, not that one. Nope. Hello. What's this?". He had just stumbled apon information about his new daughter's partner and his parents. "Hm... Manitoba Smith. Lives in...". George paused. "Australia?". He was confused. He thought Svetlana's partner was going to be in Russia, not in another continent, but as much as George wanted to stop the experiment, he couldn't. He began to look through more about this boy's information.
"Siblings. Some guy named Vito. Gender. Of course a boy. Parents," George became more interested now, "Sydney and Luke Smith. Married on August 17th. Sydney is 24. Luke is 26. They're e-mail and phone number is on here too. Probably should give them a call,". Just then the doctor came to George telling him he's allowed to take his daughter home. "Ok. Thank you , doctor," George said. "I'll be right back," replied the doctor. He left and George told himself, "Maybe I'll call when we get home,". The doctor came back with Svetlana with no time at all. "Thank you again, doctor. For everything," George said. "No problem, and I'm sorry, again," the doctor replied. "It's fine,". George walked out of the hospital and drove home in the heavy snow.
About an hour passed before George and his darling daughter got home. They were greeted by their two dogs. Bodey and Scout, both huskies. "Yes. it's nice to see you guys, too. Now sit," George commanded. They did as they were told. "Good boys," told them, petting the dogs with his free hand. George walked into Svetlana's room and set her on her bed. He smiled. How lucky he was to have a daughter to grow a strong relationship with, hopefully. The infant instantly fell asleep. George walked out quietly closing the door. Then, he grabbed the folder and his phone and sat on his couch. He flipped through the pages until he found the page with the information. He scanned through the page until he found the phone number. George entered the phone number and called. The phone started ringing, until a man with a strong Australian accent answered the phone. "G' day. Luke speaking," said the man. "Um, yes, hello. My name is George Sharrow. Is this Luke and Sydney Smith?" George asked. "Yes, that's us. Can we help you?" Luke asked. "Actually, this may sound strange, but did your wife just have a son? Also, were you given a necklace for your son?". Luke was confused. He never knew someone outside of Australia. Luke answered, "Yes. Who are you?". "Have you looked through your folder yet? If you have you would know that I'm the keeper of your son's partner," said George. Luke didn't know what to say. Quickly, Luke started flipping through the pages of the folder, frantically, until he found the page about Svetlana. It was true. This man was her guardian. "You live in Russia?!" Luke asked surprised. "Yes, and you live in Australia," George replied. There was a pause between the two confused gentlemen. They didn't know how they felt now. Exited, scared, disturbed. The silence continued for several minutes before Luke spoke up, "Well, George, is it. It was very nice to meet you. We should talk again, soon,". "Agreed," responded George. They both hung up simotaliuosly.
Luke looked at his confused looking wife. "Who was that?" asked Sydney. "I think that was Manitoba's future partner's dad?". "That's a very confusing sentence, but I understand you, sweetie," the Australian female told him. "Well that's good," Luke said giving his wife another kiss.
At the very same time, George was looking at a picture of him and his wife on they're honeymoon. They looked so happy then. Now she was dead. "Oh Christy. I wish you were here right now. I don't know what to do without you," George said sheading another tear. George was hoping it would get better from here on.
At this moment, no one knew the plan for the future of these two new borns, and what would happen to them. There was worry everywhere.
