And yes, I am serious, all of those ships DO exist, whether in parody, phanfiction, or fanart. (Speaking of fan art, there seems to be a shortage of Erik/The Persian.) I think this is all of them, but feel free to add your own.

I've always been E/C. I love Raoul and all and I definitly don't think that their relationship would be as easy sailing (to put it very lightly) as C/R but this is what I prefer I guess. None of that "I really love Erik!" business though. That's just cliche.

I'm not very partial to E/OW because it tends to drift towards being Mary Sueish often. Not in all cases, like Madrigal by Jenifer Linsforth is a very good example of a practical OW, but it still just rubs me the wrong way. I feel like that Erik would always be hung up on Christine and wouln't be physically capable of moving on.

In short, I'm E/C. A practical one, that is.

I agree with you on E/OW. I mean, it's almost always a self-insert. But really, what's the point of adding another character for Erik to fall in love with? 99% of the time, it's going to be a self-insert Mary-Sue.

I don't know if you could say I "ship" Christine and Erik, but they certainly are the couple I enjoy reading about the most. The problem is that in most fan works the relationship gets turned into slop. That is, enter drunken abusive Raoul and the new not-so-insane-uber-sexy-perfect-man Erik (I apologize for dash excess). If you have to screw over the character to make the relationship work, then no, I don't enjoy EC.

I wouldn't change the story to have them end up together, but I still consider myself an EC fan. Although I guess I'd say, like TGITPC, a practical one. It seems to work better with the musical than with the book.

Along with the annoying self-insert Sues, E/OW almost always includes Erik getting the shaft (character wise. Evidently sexiness trumps insanity) Poor little Leroux Erik never stood a chance.

Someone *actually* picked Erik/Myself... that was there as a joke. :D

E/C for me!

I agree with ragged_sun. I like the E/C relationship, but not when Raoul turns into an abusive alcoholic husband and Erik turns sane. Raoul is a kind man and genuinely cares for Christine. Erik does, too, but he doesn't know how to be anything other than what he is. After a while, maybe he would calm down if he asked Christine "Why Raoul and not me?" and she said something around, "he's sane." But, don't change the characters around.

I don't really ship E/C, but I do find their relationship fascinating. I enjoy reading about them if they're in character and all.

If not E/C, I would've picked E/The Persian. I think that's the most believable one other than E/C.

I think Meg and Rauol would make a fine couple from sseeing Love Never Dies
