First of all WTF?! Speak to the option. He would NEVER hurt Christine. I very much doubt he'd inflict pain on another person having been through so much torment himself. A part of me thinks he'd shrink away from it. And this is the guy who let's the love of her life marry her sweetheart so SHE would be happy. Explain to me how he could rape her? I think he was just attracted to her physically but overall cz she was 'good.' He knows the difference between good/evil in that sense. I never interpetated a physical relation between them

The only reason I bring it up is because apparently Christine's kid in the sequel belongs to Erik. So a small debate has broken out over exactly how this happened.
I think the entire thing is bullsh*t because Erik would NOT rape Christine. The man was almost afraid to TOUCH her for God's sakes! And I cannot think of a point in the original show that would make sense for consensual relations to occur. The whole thing just makes no damn sense!

Maybe he'll be Raoul's son after all.

We can always hope.
Of course, it's probably best to expect the worst.

No, he'd never rape her. He loved her too much for that. I still hope he'll be Erik's son, but it better have been consensual sex! But at what point did they do the deed? Confusing, lol.

Kit, I think that most people will be hoping Christine's son is Erik's.

Well, the path that Susan Kay took with the novel phantom seemed to pave a plausible way for Christine and Erik to have a son. He did not rape her, she went back to him before he died and...well, enough said. Erik would never, NEVER rape Christine. She was the world to him, i'm sure he'd die before doing somthing so horrible. Was he Lustful, full of unrequited urges? I'm sure, but that is a crime he would never commit.

He probably had dreams of making love to Christine but he probably wouldn't force it upon her like that and wouldn't you think he'd be scared to do anything sexual with Christine? He'd probably be afraid he couldn't please her or somthing...

I truly believe that Erik wouldn't willingly hurt Christine. He would do anything to make her happy (i.e. letting her free to be with another man a.k.a. Raoul) even if it means he would be hurt in the process. He would never let any of his pesky little urges get in the way.

Ummm... He adored Christine. I don't believ you can rape someone you adore, no matter how insane you are. And if he was to rape her, he'd done it the story. Especially in the book, which was meant to be horror story.

But the 2004 film Erik I think is the one this question is most ridiculous for. He seduced her pretty damn much in the MotN scene but even then he didn't take her. So sure as hell he wouldn't have raped her. Not to mention, as the first commenter said, every single version (that counts) of him, let her go even though she meant the world and life to him. Let her go with "the enemy" so that she could be happy.

No way in hell would he ever even dream of raping her. -.-

No. Erik is confused in many ways but he wouldn't ever intentionally do something so awful to Christine.

Holy sh*t. Here we go again...

In the novel? I highly doubt it. Other versions, perhaps? Well, in the Robert Englund version, he DID. In the ALW version, she brings it up, and he does nothing to deny it. She was scared of him and didn't love him, and he had such a warped sense of right and wrong that, if pushed far enough, he was fully capable of rape. Even in regards to Christine. Rape is about control more than sex, and he wanted to control her. Call a spade a spade.
