Have I mentioned just how much I LOATHE the entire concept of this? *sigh* I just saw some article about the sequel that said that Christine's brat was born with a half mask and I broke down into tears. The complete and utter STUPIDITY of the whole thing is making me quite mad (in both senses of the term). In all honesty I probably will end up seeing it due to the nature of my obsession. And I probably WILL end up getting thrown out for screaming, weeping, and throwing things (like molotov cocktails) at the performers. I'll bet Leroux is doing sommersaults in his grave about now.

I would not call Webber a genius, but I am very curious to see this. After some time to let it sink in, I listened to the music, and liked it very much. Letting a couple of little things slide meant that I am not too bothered by it. I cannot make any judgement calls though until I see it for myself.
