I chose the movie, because I haven't seen the play or the actual opera of it. But I LOVE the movie! :-)

Do you mean Faust when you refer to the opera? Or are you calling the ALW stage show an opera and meaning a different version by 'play'? It's a musical. At the very most it's an operetta as there is some spoken dialouge. Operas have zero spoken lines.

when u see it live it's amazing! i wrote this whole like paragraph about some stuff in the play on erik and christine spot on which is better- the movie or the play question. u should read it. the play will make u laugh, cry, and sing the songs 4 weeks!
