I think we all do, because we all go through that at some point in our lives.

Don't get me wrong, I really do feel for the Phantom. He's been through a ton and he deserves someone. Christine just wasn't that someone and Raoul and Christine really did love each other.

I also felt really sorry for the Phantom, but Christine is better off with Raoul. I don't know, it's just that Chris is way too Disney-Princess-ish for Erik... Well, it's my opinion, just look at how she wakes up in the swan bed, completely flawless...

I cry my eyes out at age 14 and I worked my way up to being hopefully the Phantom finds Christine and takes her away to a beautiful castle or home so the ending of the musical doesn't make me cry I make a wish that Christine is found by the Phantom and the fall in love together into true love for each other always no matter the gap in age 7 older to 10 is a beauty and the beast bond and sexual yet soulful union to where the Phantom is a man of great desire for Christine but truly her best interests and protection as well. Christine's best love and truest is the Phantom for he will never abandon her like Raoul did in Love Never Dies that is why Christine should be with the Phantom because he is her true Prince of Enchantment like the Beast and She is always like Belle in true love always. Both in Music, Literature, Musical theater and everyday Life Relationships between a Man and a younger women or girl this is a learning story of letting go to what is truly best for yourself which is the older man who will take you for who you are and also will watch, take care and love you endlessly while protecting you for your own well being you can truly be yourself and in love with an elder man of that nature of your year 7 to 10 because he will always find you and love you for who you are. Believe me I know and will love and grown to learn to know more as well because of him and his age you love him for his whole being but truly the light in his heart is what draws you in so let it be and let yourself fall in love without fear or judgment upon yourself because he will be there for you and I hope mine knows who I am and I love him for who he is always. Also he is 7 years
senior to my age of 22 so he is 29 about but I love him for who he is and am drawn to his light thoroughly and truly forever. It is a wonderful feeling and you will enjoy it and love him and yourself too truly as well.

I felt bad for him, but I still feel that Christine made the right choice. I get that we want to see Erik receive some form of love and compassion after all of the torment that he's been through, but his unstable mental state would most likely lead to a very unhealthy relationship. Trauma can't just be fixed with love and compassion, it's life-long and requires a lot of coping.
