I like the idea but scared...

I'm on the fence on this,while I like disney the only problem is that I don't like new disney and how they rely on computer animation rather than 2d animation these days and plus I feel like they will dumb it down a bit,but maybe if it was made during the rennaissnce of disney like around the time when beauty and the beast was made it may have had a chance but now I'm not sure anymore just wouldn't like it I guess.

It would look awesome in 2D animation with a dark more realistic air like in The Hunchback of Notre Dame! But honestly the latest movies produced by Disney were quite disappointing for me. Also I don't want them to make it too Disney (especially the ending).

They did well with Beauty and the Beast and The Hunchback of Notre Dame so it might work. Even if they can't or don't want to do that specific story they could always create an original work based on Phantom of the Opera.
