(Here is the blurb)

Paris, 1880, nine years after the events of 'The Phantom of the Opera'. Nine years in which all thoughts of Erik, the angel who'd once haunted her day and night had been cast aside, discarded like a broken doll. Nine years in which poor, sixteen year old Christine had grown up, grown up into a women of high reputation, with a handsome young husband and prospects of a child.

So much can change in nine years.

Yet it only takes a little to be hurled back into the past.

Just a little historical footnote the book was set in about 1881 so your actually presetting the events by a decade. Furthermore in 1870-71 France was in the Franco-Prussian war and the opera house at the time was used as a battlement and was partially destroyed and didn't open to the pubic officially until 1875. I give you points for not being a Raoul basher but the time line bugs me.

Another note: In the original novel, Christine was 20 and Raoul was 21. The only reason people think she was 16 is because Emmy Rossum was 16/17 when she filmed the 2004 film.
