The Phantom Of The Opera Question

What is this mask made of?

It's so gorgeous!
...I think they spoke something about porcelain in the bonus featurette on the 25th anniversary DVD release...but I wasn't listening too closely so I might be mistaken.

If he made his masks out of porcelain, he probably had hundreds of them in his closet...

In the 25th anniversary production they said Maria Bojiance (or however her name is spelled) designed the mask as if it were made from porcelain, because that would have been the most likely material at the time. There's actually a video on youtube that shows the process of Ramin getting fitted for the mask (including making a whole mold of his face) I would guess the mask is made out of rubber plaster.

Her name is spelled Bjornson, by the way.

I would rather think it's moulded leather, since it isn't as fragile as porcelain, and that it's more breathable and actually quite rigid.
