do you think that Christine was good enough for Erik?

For me, I can't answer this as a "good enough for" question, but more as a "right for" question. Christine was too young, naive and immature for Erik. Age doesn't matter in a relationship so long as both parties are on the same page regarding intelligence, experience and maturity, and Erik and Christine, well, weren't. He was a genius who had traveled the world and gained lots of knowledge in many different areas, and she still believed in her father's bedtime story. To some extent, they could have a relationship...one of music. In this, they were on a more even field. Erik needs a woman with more spirit and passion and maturity, someone who won't wilt next to him and can actually be his equal. I just don't see Christine being able to fill this role.

I know a lot of people say "Christine doesn't deserve him..." or "shes so childish, why does he like her?" well for one she's like 17 of course she's childish she's still a teenager and Erik is a full grown adult (plus 20 years or so) and he kinda has high standards himself, (the way he lives, dresses, and in the Kay novel he loves "beautiful things" like jewelry and when he sees Christine he is attracted to her beauty) So the fact that Christine is attracted to a guy because of his looks somehow makes her shallow, but not Erik is bias in my opinion. I know Erik also loved her voice but it didn't hurt that she was hot too. If she looked like Susan Boyle I doubt the private lessons would have occurred. Don't get me wrong though, I think she was good enough and so was he its just they could never be no matter how much I want them to, they just can't it really would never work out, its such a sad thought that in all the phan books i've read the only one where they end up together (as in one of the doesn't die in the end or Christine go w/ Raoul or GOD FORBID Erik/ Meg - did not mean to read that one...) was an erotica version that had a stupid ending but at least they lived. Sorry for the rant.

Erik and Christine are meant for each other, I just know that. And they have a wonderful son named Gustave. :-)
