✨Mary's P.O.V:✨
I lifted Two-Bit off of the street, and lied him down in the grass. I tried lifting him up to see if I could carry him, but I couldn't. I ran as fast as I could to the Curtis house, and it began to rain, no pour. I ran faster and faster, the cold rain slapping across my face, leaving a stinging sensation. I was finally there, and ran up the steps and opened the door. The gang, besides Two-Bit, was all there. Darry was sitting in a chair in the corner of the living room, and hung up when he saw me. "Two...Two-Bit." I said between breathes. "..Socs..They got him bad." I added, beginning to finally catch my breath. Soda went into the bathroom, and came back with a dry towel. "It's gonna be okay." Soda soothingly said as he wrapped the towel around me. I smiled, trying to not look as worried as I really was. Darry got up quickly and grabbed the keys to his truck. "Where is he?" Darry asked, sounding caring, but also concerned. "He's a few blocks away from the park, but on the West side of town." He nodded, and him, Soda, and Steve began walking quickly, almost running to the door. I followed quickly behind, but when Soda saw me, he turned around. "Mary, you stay here. We don't wantcha' getting sick. You're already wet." I furrowed my eyebrows. "But-" Soda looked at me, and put both of his hands on my shoulders. "He's gonna be okay." Steve turned around, and nudged Soda's arm. "C'mon Soda." They ran out the door, and into the pouring rain.

“Hey.” You smile, turning your head to kiss him.
“Miss me?” Ponyboy asks.
“Of course. I haven’t seen you in awhile.”
“I know. I just don’t want your mom and dad to get suspicious, you going to the wrong side of the tracks and all.” He mutters, just holding you.
“I know.” You mutter. “I wish it didn’t have to be this way.”
“Don’t you think I do too?” He says, holding you a bit tighter.
“I know you do.” You whisper.
“I don’t know what I’d do without you. I regret everything that happened when I first walked out. I thought it’d be better for both of us. But I was wrong.” He mumbled into your shoulder.
“I can’t wait till I’m 18. They won’t be able to tell me what to do. And I can have you.”
“And you’ll be mine.” He smiles.
“Love me forever?”
“And always.”
“Johnny?” You ask. You were sitting on his lap in the lot.
“Yeah?” He asks, absentmindedly playing with your hair.
“Would you ever leave me?” You whisper.
He sorta turns your body to face him. You see the emotions in his eyes.
“I would never, ever leave you, until the day I die. Even if you ended up with someone else, I’d still always be here. I’d catch you when you fall. Not only catch you, but put you back up where you started and help you along the way. I would never leave you, even in a burning building. I love you.”
