Was Mellini psychic?

In the episode "Smoke and Mirrors", Mellini is the washed up mentalist who is suspected for the murder of another magician.
Throughout his interrogation, he makes guesses that turn out to be startlingly accurate. This seems to go beyond interpreting minuscule social cues. Mellini even infers Toby's abandonment by his mother just by looking.
Toby said " That was intense. Being inside of his head while he was inside of mine.I could see him looking at me."
It seems like Mellini really can read minds, but to a lesser extent than Toby. Since he expressed skepticism when Toby confessed to being psychic, he might not even be aware of his or anyone's abilities, just chalking it up to be good at reading people
