The Heroes of Olympus Question

Why is everyone mean to Jason?

I was on fanfiction the other day and there was one story just ranting and ranting about how boring Jason is and how much better Percy is...I mean really of course I love Percy way more than Jason, we know Percy a lot better than Jason but he's not all bad.

Of course, they think that Jason is stupid, for some reason, too many people show Jason in a bad light. I try to capture Jason as fair but firm, with a good sense of justice, brave and strong for his friends, that's what Romans are raised to be. Percy is like that too, everyone, JASON IS JUST LIKE PERCY, imagine Jason was the one you met first, you'd end up wanting Percy dead. If you don't like Jason, DON'T READ THE BOOKS!

I honestly don't know why people hate Jason so much. I find him an intriguing character; I think people don't like him because his personality is more scaled down than Percy's. There's less humor from Jason as we were accustomed to hearing from Percy, but since the two series' are written in different perspectives that could be the reason for it.

If you actually read Jason's sentences carefully, they show the same amount of sarcasm and humor as our wonderful seaweed brain. We just don't notice it as much, because The Lost Hero isn't first person or completely Jason's perspective.

i think that each chapter has a bit of the persons personality in it depending on what person the chapter is named after but if you pay attention youll see what i mean

Yes, we don't see as much of Jason's character because of the perspective these books are being written in. I just started re-reading the Lightning Thief again, and Percy shows far more character and personality because it is written in first person.

Because apparently Jason is going to destroy the series and replace Percy and on top of that make cookies illegal.

To be honnest with you; I don't know. Jason seemed like a good guy to me.

He can work with stress (like going on a quest with amnesia), he's a good fighter, a good leader, he's loyal, he's got an okay sense of humor- perhaps smaller than Seaweed Brain's but that's just how he was raised, experience, firm, strong, the stereotype for the good Roman, and he's got a good sense of justice and right and wrong.

Destroying the series, replacing Percy is okay by me, but if he makes cookies illegal I'm marching over to Camp Jupiter and slaughter everyone I have to until Jason dies! lol

In my opinion, Jason is kinda like the Roman version of Percy. I think people don't "hate" Jason. There are just afraid he will replace Percy. If you think about it, Jason is not that bad. He is brave, heroic, strong, and so forth. People should just lighten up and enjoy the series. You never know, someday you may end up liking Jason.

Jason didn't live knowing he would end the world or pretty much kill his friends. Jason killed one Titian Percy killed like 3.

I actually do think that Jason grew up knowing about the elder god prophecy (they know abotu the second great prophecy at Camp Caesar Salad after all). Also; prove that Jason never killed a titan. For all we know, those that Percy didn't kill, Jason and the Romans took on. And Percy didn't kill any of them; he defeated them,

^Also, Jason was at Camp earlier than Percy, so he might have known before Seaweed Brain did.

I think Jason had a second prophecy somewhat like Percy's that involved him becoming the leader of Camp Jupiter, eventually leading them to victory against Krios' forces on Mt. Etna.
