The "scene photo" was actually better known as the "myspace pose" or "camera whoring" about 7 years ago when scene wasn't popular and rarely known as a trend and emo was "in". It was always peoples profile photo on MySpace when it was popular.

As for the difference, "emo" is more black colours, skinny jeans, band shirts, black eyeliner and long black hair/swept over fringe.

"Scene" is like the girly sister of "emo" and adds in fluro colours, hideous extensions (seriously, no offence to those people but tacky extensions aren't good), "raccoon eyes" (when the area around the eyes is just black eyeshadow and a lot of eyeliner), excessive child like accessories (beaded bracelets, etc), but it still incorporates that grungy teen emo look.

As for music between the two, i'm not so familiar with, but emo music was more emotional rock type bands and scene music is a bit more upbeat rock/pop, a lot more electric keyboards used, etc.

Couldn't have explained better. You're one of the rare people that actually knows what they are talking about. Thank you. [:

Emo stands for emotional so if your emotional then i guess your emo and you do not have to cut to be emo. When your scene its just what kind of music you listen to and the way you dress.
