What happened to Leslie Winkle?

Well, she was used in three season one episodes, then was promoted to main-character status for season two-or not main character, per se, but seven out of the first eleven episodes. Then the writers realized that they didn’t have enough material for her, so they eased her out of the picture. It appears as if they’ve replaced her-or her purpose of annoying Sheldon-with Barry Kripke. Her purpose of hooking up with Leonard and Howard was eliminated while they had girlfriends. She has not been in an episode since The Cushion Saturation, but spoilers say that she will have a short appearance in The Lunar Excitation, the third season finale.
