I feel it would - You could have the game set up like Sonic Adventure with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Shadow having their own Storylines. Only potential snag being the fact the now Shadow has his memory back, why would he help the Dr? But I'm sure a soloution could be found :D
