O.K., this is a kind of review and opinion at the same time. This time, I'm complaining about these haters who are accusing Sonic and some of its old games. Look, I'm not a huge Sonic fan and particularly because of the new games (which aren't that bad) and I've been playing with Sonic ever since I was little. I have no idea how old I was but probably among the ages of either three and 5. My first game was Sonic the Hedgehog two so I was a little ahead, but Sonic has been out before I was born.
Shadow the Hedgehog: O.K., so people have been complaining about Sonic ever since Shadow came out. I heard about Shadow swearing and using weapons and are accusing the game's rating. Most people are saying it should be rated T and is wrongly accused for ages ten and up. Come on, what about the game play? Don't complain about the profit in it, just complain about the game play. I thought it was a fun roller coaster ride, but seriously nothing special. The game mostly copies off Sonic Adventure 2 (or Battle) and mostly features on themes of death. Shadow tries to uncover the truth about his past and is always complaining about this little twelve-year-old brat named Maria. The swearing the game has is irritating, but I don't think the weapons should be criticized. The true ending is very hard and I agree to most people that the game is tough to play; and I don't think it should be rated E10+ either. Since I'm a teen, I think it should be rated T while my mom thinks it should be rated A or M. I have a friend who's 12 who doesn't understand half of the story and is really annoyed by this game's usage of weapons and swearing so I should think it's for ages 13 and up, especially since it contains themes of death about Maria and others not just the dying in the game play but the storyline.
Overall: 7.5
Sonic and the Secret Rings: O.K., I haven't played this game since Christmas when I got my WII, but I guess it isn't too bad. It's another pretty darn good Sonic game where Sonic jumps into a book with a princess and tries to collect seven World Rings (that aren't Chaos Emeralds). The plot literally just kind of shows Egyptian-like music and storyline and the party games are fun. I liked the balloon one where you try to pump air into the balloon and the person who pops the balloon is a rotten egg. It was a funny game and I'd always laugh at the person if they pop the balloon. I don't think this deserved TOO much criticism as Shadow the Hedgehog did since I last checked Gamespot, but I don't think the reviews highly favored this game...
Overall: 8.5
Sonic Unleashed: I can't really review much of this. I have played the game, but I don't have it... it was over at a friend's house. But this is a new game which is another fun roller coaster ride with good 3-D graphics. The bosses are a little easy though, but the Sonic the Werehog idea isn't vulnerable.
Overall: 7.5
I'm just wondering why everyone thinks that the new Sonic games are horrible, seriously, I don't think they're bad, I think they just copy a little bit off the old games they are made from.
I can't review the Sonic and Mario franchise because this is a crossover. I liked these games too, but this is a Sonic spot after all.
Haven't played Sonic Next Gen, Sonic and the Black Night, Sonic Colors, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 or any other new Sonic game yet, but I will try, but that doesn't mean I'll expand this article. I'm just reviewing these old games that I've played.
Notify: I'm not a HUGE Sonic fan because I've been playing Sonic for well... you know... my toddler years. I always thought Sonic was for six-year-olds except some of the new games they're creating now, which are becoming too hard.
That's all I have to say about this mess
