Well, she did die 973 years ago, and her sisters died before her, so she was over protective of her brother. Her brothers(his name is Paul) school caught on fire and she shoved him out of the building before the door fell on her. She dragged herself out from under the door and out of the building. Night's friend, Susanna found her on the ground burned. Susanna began walking to her, when some guy, whose name was Coal, shot her and ran away, then blah blah blah, Susanna was sad and Night wanted her brother safe blah blah blah.
