Why did Shock's parents have to die?!

I KNOW I wrote it that way, but still--WHY? They didn't do zip to Malice. They were amazing parents. They loved him, and supported him in his dream, and prepared him for what would happen if he ever became a hero. Seriously, why did those freakin' awesome parents have to die? It's not fair.

It's part of his evil personality. They "stood in his way" so Malice killed them. Originally, he had no intention on intereacting with them at all. But he noticed how protective they were....and you know what happened next.
