I would say the spines need about the same size unless he is facing in a direction that would change the perspective he is being drawn that. Like others say the smirk needs to be bigger and the spines need to jut up a bit more, kinda like this:

i drew this. i cant help but draw things... I have Shadow plushies but they are like vodo dolls to me.. i like sticking them with needles.... *dreamy* sharp needles.... -_- *smileing*
