Severus Snape Question

How do you think Snape would respond to being a father?

Lets say that theoretically Severus Snape found out he was going to be a father. How do YOU think that he would respond? Would he be worried? Proud? Would he hide from it? Ditch the girl?

The initial reaction would depend on the circumstances around the conception. In the end however I think he'd be happy. He strikes me as someone who craves to belong, to be loved and to have someone to love unconditionally. He might worry a bit, but I think he'd be more likely to throw himself into trying to do the best for his child.

Hide from it? Ditch the woman? Not *this* man.

Sure, he'd worry. Every decent father worries. I think he would resolve to be the best father he could be, and I think the child would be very lucky indeed. (Yeah, couldn't you just see the daughter of Severus Snape at 16? Severus meeting her very first boyfriend on her very first date? :p)

Good luck to the future boyfriend/son-in-law, with such a formidable Dad like Severus...

No looser would ever make it through Severus to get to his daughter that's for sure!

For sure he would be unsettled first. This would be a major disruption in his way of life.

Then he would be dead worried, considering his childhood and the abusive father he had. He would be afraid to turn into what his father had been with him.

But last, he is way too much responsible a man, too much dependable, to ditch the woman he would have made pregnant. He would take responsibility for his actions - like he had always done before.

He would do his best not to reproduce the mistakes that had been made against him as a child.

I agree, he'd see it as cowardice to hide from it and/or ditch the girl. And we all know he's no coward!

So true - he's no coward and he is a man of honor first. Slytherin honor !

I think he would definitely be worried, based on his own sad upbringing. However, being a better person, he would be a good parent. He wouldn't dump the girl, and he would be proud of his child.

Well, as everyone else said, I don't think he'd ditch her or hide. Whatever Severus may be, he's no coward.

Of course he's be worried. Not only because of his own past experiences with his father, but also because I think every future father get's worried. But I also think he'd be a little happy and excited. And proud.

He would never leave the woman... If it was a mistake or intentional. I think it would be good that he would be worried because it would show that he wants to do a good job and raise his child right.

He would be the best dang father ever! I could just see his daughter now... :D She'd have him wrapped around her finger! And he would love her and prove to the world that he is not his father...

Yes, he'd be his typical dual self with a daughter. On the one hand I think he'd allow her freedom to learn, try new thinks, expand her orizons or even just to indulge her, but as soon as a boyfriend entered the picture, he'd clamp down, restrict and try to control it every step of the way.

Would take a special brand of courage for a man to love Sev's daughter - I mean, with such a father... But I can imagine that a courageous man, with honor himself, would eventually receive Severus' blessings to love Miss Snape. For sure, no Dark wizard would be allowed to approach her.
