The following may contain spoilers, so read at your own risk!!! Thanks
In crafting the Moka referred to as "Outer" Moka, Her father did more than he intended to. What happened is that he brought out the kind, gentle aspects of his daughter that already existed, suppressed the anger and ruthlessness, left her memory intact, and sent her out to the human world. He believes this persona to be a total fabrication. He was wrong. Aono Tsukune knows it, and more importantly, the suppressed personality referred to as "Inner" Moka knows it too.
"Inner" Moka is the strong, warrior personality, and is envious of her "Outer" Moka self's ability to make friends and inspire trust in others without frightening them.
"Outer" Moka is the vulnerable, warm, and caring personality, and wishes she had the sheer strength of her warrior side to better protect her friends from harm.
Whether it is "Inner" Moka or "Outer" Moka, it is still Moka in both personae. Different behavoral/hormonal sets, but the same mind throughout - she's the same person. What signifies this is the fact that "Inner" Moka keeps replacing the Rosario back onto its chain(!) Why would she? She's back in the monster world, after all.
It is not a psychotic break in which one of the personalities is unaware of the other. Note: this is simplified as an example.
"Both" Mokas have come to care for Aono Tsukune very much. "Outer" Moka has come to see Tsukune as her protector, despite being physically stronger than him. "Inner" Moka sees Tsukune as someone she must protect at all costs - she is his protector.
"Inner" Moka tried so hard to fit in with Tsukune and the rest of "Outer" Moka's friends (albeit in her own way) that she showed her vulnerable side to Tsukune. (I'm not gonna be specific, you have to watch the anime!) She yearns for love and to be loved, and she thinks she is more easily loved and is lovable as "Outer" Moka. She may be more comfortable as "Outer" Moka. Besides, "Inner" Moka has to be careful of her strength, and cannot playfully scrap with her friends like "Outer" Moka can.
Okay, I think that the terms "Inner" and "Outer" should be reversed in terms of to whom they refer. "Outer" Moka is the personified incarnate heart of "Inner" Moka - beneath the warrior lies a very warm, caring person.
My two cents. Thanks for reading my rambling thoughts.
postscript: Totally unrelated - her father's name wouldn't be "Chocula", would it? (wink)
postscript July 16 2009: I would like to see Inner Moka progress to acting more like Outer Moka. That is, smile, laugh, and be cheerful, all things she is not capable of unless under the spell of the Rosario. The two Mokas should eventually become one, with all the strengths of both.
This seems to me Moka's personal journey.
Anyone notice that the only way that Outer Moka can express anger is by becoming Inner Moka? In other words, Outer Moka cannot get angry - she just becomes saddened in those situations which call for anger. A whole person would get angry when the situation called for it, and cheerful when the situation called for it.
Moka's schism is marked by: Inner Moka cannot be cheerful, and Outer Moka cannot get angry.
The only time Inner Moka actually laughed was during episode 21 (Capu2 ep. 8), enjoying Mizore's triumph over her personal demons! That's great!

I dont think theyre going to make another season the average anime last 12 or 13 episodes this has 26 so. They are well over due on episodes and why after 4 years they decide to start another season of a show that didnt make top 3. After the earthquake they lost alot of money and in the last episode it says the end. i hoped we would get to see the other two sisters but funimation has other animes too and it wouldnt be the same they would have diffrent voices which will mess up the whole story because theyd get other voice actors
