We don't need props... It's just a little something you get for doing whatever it was that made you deserve it. I guess it's just there to show what you've done that made people happy or what your fans gave you just to be nice.

It comes from an expression. When someone does something awesome, someone says "props" (or something like that). The site just made it literal.

People give props to others to show emotion and showing that person cares for something awesome you did, or it's also because people like users icons.

So people will answer questions. If you really want alot of people to answer a question,say that you're giving props.
