Why do you think Peeta would want to go into the arena a secound time to protect Katniss?

This Peeta quotes can answer the question.

well.. do you think Hamich would go in?? but I think Peeta feels protective over Katniss and he loves her

Well, after almost reading the whole second book, then Yes, I think so.
He's very caring!

he wanted to protect her because he loves her. hay itch wouldn't be as protective of her as peeta. and even if peeta was killed he would've at least spent the last of his life with his love.

He had a better chance to protect her if he was actually with her. Haymitch is a pretty good mentor, but can you imagine what he would be like in the arena after all those years? he's not as fit as he once was, plus, now he's an alcoholic! Where would he get his alcohol in the arena? He would be going through withdraws, which obviously wouldn't help him. Haymitch wouldn't be protecting Katniss... It would be the other way around.

After all, Peeta loves Katniss. We all know that. Peeta clearly could not live without Katniss, so, he thought the only way to ensure Katniss's return to District 12 would be to protect her personally. That's why I think that Peeta decided to go into the arena for his second time. To protect the love of his life. GO TEAM PEETA!! #HG

He doesnt want haymitch to die nor katniss (i dont know exactly wht nor means) so he will die 4 him thts why i love him :))

I think peeta went in the arena again to protect katniss. I think peeta was right to go into the arena again, i would've wanted peeta to go in instead of haymitch so katniss wouldn't have been without peeta. Plus her and haymitch do not exactly get along very well and how would haymitch get her out of the arena if he was there with her. I just don't like how they didn't get peeta out of the arena too.

Peeta loves Katniss too much to let her go there by herself. He thinks that if Katniss dies, there is no point to his life anymore, as he says in the book "If you die, and I live, there's no life for me back in District 12. You're my whole life."

He loved her enough to be willing to sacrifice himself to save her, if needs be, and he couldn't trust that Haymitch would make the same decision. And I don't think he'd be able to stand just watching her be in the games unable to do anything to help her.
