The sun was shining. Today was a beatiful day at Warped Tour for everyone. Spring was just around the corner, but there was also something else that was special about this day..
"Hey, it's April 1st, you have to fool someone! I'm so gonna fool Jeremy." Zac said smiling. He was really excited about this. Not that he usually didn't do pranks but today, he was allowed to, and he was going to use it to the fullest.
"Yeah, I don't know, I'm not much for pranks you know Zac." Josh said, clearly having his thoughts somewhere else. Zac knew this, Josh was always the serious one. He could be goofy and all, but mostly, he was the one looking out for the rest of the band.
"Pfft, come on. You have to. You have to honor the beauty of this day." Zac said sounding triumphantly. Josh only laughed.
"We'll see." he said, just to get Zac stop bugging.
They got back to the bus where rest of the gang was. Jeremy was no where to be found so Zac started planning what he was going to do to him. Taylor joined him. Hayley sat at the couch just near the busdoor. She was writing something in her notebook. Josh went to take a seat beside her.
"Yo, what's up?" he said.
Hayley smiled. Or more like grinned. She nearly burst out of laugh, but she knew she had to wait for the right moment.
"Not much, I was going to go for a walk. Care to join?" she said and looked questionable at Josh.
"Yeah, why not, the sun is shining and the sky is blue." he said and got up from the couch.
Hayley and Josh walked around the busses. She glanced at Chad from New found glory and signaled him to start. Josh had no idea what was going to happen.
"So, what are you thinking about?" Josh asked while staring down at the ground.
"Oh, not much. You know it's April 1st today and..." Hayley didn't finish the sentence. Because just as they got to the end of a bus Chad hopped out and threw a pie in Josh's face. Chad and Hayley burst out laughing like little kids. Hayley held her hand over her mouth. She couldn't help but to feel a little mean, since Josh would never fool anyone, but she just had to do something. Plus, Josh's face when Chad came out was priceless. He did not look too happy at the moment. Or, you couldn't really see since his face was covered in cream pie. Chad high-fived Hayley.
"AAAH. I'm so going to pay back!" Josh said, not sounding too pissed though. He hit a soft punch at Chad's arm. "Hahhaa, and how are you going to do that when your face is all covered in cream?" Hayley teased.
Josh grunted a little and wiped off the cream with his hands. He then started to chase Hayley. She ran, unprepared he was going to chase her. He caught up to her and started to tickle her.
"NOOOO. Josh, stop it! You're creaming down all my clothes!" Hayley laughed as she helplessly tried to push Josh away.
"Haha, only fair." he said and let go of her.
Hayley looked down at her clothes. Yep, they were covered in cream. She held out her shirt and excamined it.
"Aw." Hayley said as she pouted with her lower lip. Josh only grinned. She looked so cute when she did that.
They both walked back to the bus where Zac and Taylor impatiently waited for Jeremy to open the door. They sighed when they saw Hayley and Josh. But then their eyes got even bigger as they saw Josh's face and Hayley's clothes.
"Dude, what the?!" Taylor choked out. "Did we miss a party or something?" he then added laughing. Zac smiled. He knew about Hayley's plan.
"Way to go Hayles" he said and raised his hand to high-five her. Hayley grinned and just about when she was going to high-five him, Zac dropped his hand.
"Wait, I don't wanna be covered in cream as well." Zac said cooly. Hayley just made a face.
"Zac, what the hell bro, you knew about this and you didn't tell me?" Josh said looking at Zac.
"Oh come on, I did say it was April 1st, not my fault you're so easy to fool man." Zac said and laughed. Josh went over to punch his brother.
"Owwwww." Zac said exaggeratedly. It did hurt a little though.
"I'm gonna go and take a shower, since my face -he looked at Hayley blameworthy just as he said that- is covered in cream. Hayley giggled.
"Not if I'll beat ya to it." she said and raced to the bathroom in the bus. Josh quickly reacted. Unfortunatley for Hayley, he came to the door first.
"Sorry honey, guess you'll have to wait." he said cocky and closed the door. Hayley moped a bit and went back to the guys. The fact that Josh just called her "honey" put a little smile on her lips. As Josh was in the bathroom he tried to think of a way he could pay back.
"Haha, never race Josh, he'll always beat you." Taylor said, clearly out of own experinces as he saw Hayley coming back unsatisfied.
"Oh, Jeremy is coming. Everyone, act normal!" Zac bursted out. Hayley was confused. 'Oh no, Zac was planning on doing something to him or he'd already done something' Hayley thought. She sat down, trying to ignore the fact that her shirt had a little cream on it. Taylor smiled as Jeremy walked in.
"Hey guys, what's up?" Jeremy said as he left the busdoor open.
"Nothing." Zac said. "Where have you been?" he then asked normally. He actually managed to keep it cool.
"Oh, haha, me and a couple of dudes just fooled the manager. Haha, it was so fun. You should have been there."
"Right, April 1st." Zac said. Okay, that maybe wasn't such a clever thing to say since everyone knew Zac was not the one who'd forgot a day like this. Jeremy looked a little strangely at Zac. He then let it go and went to his bunk. Zac and Taylor looked at each other and just waited for Jeremy's reaction.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAH. Someone has pooped in my buuuuuunk!" Jeremy let out and ran back to where everyone was.
"Hahahahhahahahahaha." Zac and Taylor laughed. "Sorry dude, that was a lame one. Haha just couldn't think of anything else. Plus, that poop thing looks so real, doesn't it? Zac said and then laughed even more.
"I should have figured.." Jeremy said lowly and then started to laugh a little as well. "Well, I'll get you back another time."
The evening had arrived at it was beginning to get darker. Josh had now come up with the perfect plan for revenge. He still wasn't sure of it, he couldn't harm Hayley, could he? Screw it, he thought. He got a pie in his face, he deserved to get some revenge. He'd told all the other guys about his plan and they had left the bus.
"You sure about this Josh?" Zac had said. "She's going to freak."
"That's the point." Josh grinned.
"Well, I knew you had the power inside of you Josh." Zac said proudly, happy his brother decided to do something.
Hayley got out of the shower and put on some clothes. As she opened the door she noticed it was all dark. And no one was around. She dried her hair with the towel as she tried to look around.
"Guys?" she said. She threw the towel away and began walking to the front of the bus. No one anwered. She started to get a little scared now.
"Seriously, this isn't a funny April joke!" she said, her voice cracking a little. She turned around and screamed as she saw Josh, holding a flashlight under his chin. She jumped.
"AAAAAH." she screamed. Josh began laughing.
"It's not Halloween! So not funny, dude" she said and began to punch him. "Sorry, but I told you I'd give it back to you." Josh said blamelessly. He couldn't help but to feel a bit mean, but that's just how he was. He could never really be truthfully revengeful. At least not to Hayley. Hayley stopped punching him.
"Can we turn on the lights now?" Hayley said, still a bit scared. "Wait." Josh said as Hayley went to push the button. He didn't want to tell her what he was about to say, but she just made it so hard for him. Her wet yellow-orange hair and her cute, yet still a bit frightened face was enough to make Josh feel a little dizzy. She was wearing a Death cab shirt as well. Hayley frowned and went back to Josh again. As dark as it was they couldn't see eachother too clearly, but the lights from the outside shone in from the windows. He had to tell her.
"Hayley, there's something I've been wanting to say."
Hayley looked at Josh and waited.
"I think I like you." Josh said. As he saw Hayley's face expression change to confusion and shocked, he regretted it. He chickened out.
"Hahaha, April, April." he then said, trying to save himself from the situation. He immediately regretted saying that as well. Now, Hayley was really confused. Did he just do that? She couldn't believe it. This was seriously not funny. She had no idea what to say. Tears started to form in her eyes. If this was real, this was a really sick April joke. Did he know about her feelings? She was grateful that it was dark, cause then he might not see Hayley's tears. She ran out of the bus, April Fool's day was now officially destroyed. It sucked. She hated it. Lots of people were around her, since they had their tourbus next to many others. But she was careful not to run in to Zac, Taylor or Jeremy, they would just ask and it'd be more awful. She ran to the end of the parking lot where a fence was. Josh hastily ran after.
"Hayley, wait!" he gripped her hand. Now he saw the tears in her eyes. He almost started to cry himself. He was a jerk, wasn't he?
"What?" Hayley said and looked away.
"Look, I didn't mean any of it. Or, yes I did, I meant it when I said that I liked you. I do. And.. and.. and I just chickened out. It was stupid, really stupid Hayley. I'm sorry." he said, still holding Hayley's hand.
"Yeah, it was Josh. You shouldn't have-" he bent down and pressed his lips against hers. Her eyebrows rose and she was completeley unprepared for Josh's action. Slowly, she started to kiss back. He pulled her closer and Hayley had one hand on Josh's chest. She then abruptly pulled back and looked at Josh.
"Wait. No. You can't just do that." she said and stepped back. Her head was spinning and she didn't know what to do. That kiss was really amazing though.
"I'm sorry, Hayles." Josh said. "I shouldn't have done that either... but I wanted to. I've been wanting for a long time and I'm so-" Hayley took one step forward and closed the gap between them. Then, without thinking, she kissed him. She had to taste those lips again. His arms went from being straight down to her face. He cupped her face as Hayey's hands were on his waist. They both stood there, kissing each other passionately. But then, Hayley abruptly pulled back again.
"Wait." she said. Josh sighed.
"You gotta stop doing that!" he said, a smile forming his face.
"This is not an April joke right?" she said, sounding serious, with a hint of silliness. Josh pulled her closer with his hand on her waist.
"What do you think?" he said and then kissed her again. She smiled as she kissed back.
"So, you forgive me?" he asked.
"Maybe." Hayley said seductively and they both leaned in to kiss each other again.
They were so caught in the moment they didn't noticed Zac and Jeremy was coming towards them.
"WOW." Zac said as he saw the two. "Is this some kind of April joke?!" he then said and stopped eating his crisps.
Hayley and Josh both just shook their heads, smiling at the question. Hayley still couldn't believe it was all true though.
"Seriously?" Zac then asked, now confused whether it was a joke or not.
"Seriously." Josh repeated smiling, and pulled Hayley closer.
