Here's my theory for next week - Bae won't want anything to do with Rumple, Cora will control rumpel, and the only way to save him and everyone else will be if Bae helps reach him somehow. Cora could have traded Regina as a baby for power and later found a loophole regretting her decision. She could have married the guy Regina was given to just to get her back. It would have been a loveless marriage, but knowing Cora she probably would have killed off his wife and forced him to marry her threatening him or using dark magic to do so.
