I have mixed feelings because obviously neither of them are villains anymore in the way they are written, so saying they're still evil is just not true, but in my opinion Hook didn't have a good enough redemption arc/I can barely see one if I squint, and there were some problems in Regina's arc as well, so I do understand when people don't think they should be written as fully redeemed yet/ever, or if they're salty about them being treated as heroes. I get it.

^ That's a fair point. I too feel like Regina still has a little bit of work to do, but part of me also has to ask where do we draw the line? By this I mean she has to have some flaws still; I don't want her to be this perfect and pure good guy who doesn't do anything wrong. Even Snow has her flaws and does some bad things. So some of those things Regina needs to work on--like blaming others for stuff--could be one of those flaws.

As far as Hook goes, though I don't think he's a villain or even a bad person anymore, I think he has a further ways to go. I think he still owes quite a few apologies and such and there are still something that he needs to change. But at this point I think that he's going in the right direction and has good intentions.

That's why it somewhat bugs me when people treat the two as if they haven't changed at all or that they're still bad people.

Bad or good, Regina's the kind of person I wouldn't ever sympathize with in real life, thus I don't really care about her in the show.

Personally I'm sort of the opposite; good or bad I tend to sympathize with people like her. I sympathize less with Hook because I feel like he had it less hard. To be honest I feel like Regina worked much harder for her redemption and deserves it more. And for that it does annoy me a bit more when people discredit her. Even so, it still annoys me when Hook's is disregarded.

It makes me wonder how much they've watched of the show and how much they've ignored.
