I'm actually happy that Rumple did what he did to Pan. Because Pan was never someone to trust in the first place. If he went with Rumple to Storybrooke he probably would have tried to harm Henry again or even the town (Remember season 3). Plus Rumple let Robin live, so he does seem to be better man than he used to be.
It is sad for Emma that Hook couldn't return with her. But at least he has a chance to move on and be somewhere happier. And the others have made it home.
