While it was a clever twist, I really wish they didn't make Hook a Dark One and just kept the story about Emma. Hook's motivation was really weak. Plus he wanted to make Emma suffer for SAVING HIS FREAKING LIFE and thank her for making him the man he wanted to be by killing everyone she loves. Besides, Hook was always a boring character no matter what. Emma was BY FAR the better Dark One and a better character in general!

He was more dark, which imo makes him a better Dark One as a villain. Emma, although I do like the "ends justify the means" angle of her corruption, was faking her darkness most of the time.
