I was just looking through my timeline and I saw someone say something like "I really hope it's Neal that dies so CS will eventually be canon!"
Now, as much as I dislike CS I would never want Hook to die because he's a "threat" to my ship. That's ridiculous. For either a CS or SF fan to say they want Neal or Hook to die for that reason alone. I've blocked the person on Twitter so I hope I don't see anything else like that.
Well I had that idea too (I wished Neal was dead), but I don't think anyone has to die to make my OTP happen, that wouldn't be fair. So, I'd be glad if he just got out of the way. Death is never a solution.
That's just wrong! Characters are so much more than just a part of a ship! You can't wish someone to die just because they're a threat to your ship. I really hate the fact that there are people who see things that way and that their opinion gets taken like the whole fandom's, and that's not the case! A lot of CSers LOVE Neal and MRJ and we DO NOT want him to die. I personally want him to get a new interesting storyline and to have his happy ending. I hate love triangles but the fact is that haters, and anyone who can't deal with the fact that other people have their opinions, are what's making them even worse.
I know CS fans on here aren't like that, and it was only the one person I saw saying it. I would post a link but like I said they're blocked and I can't remember they're name. ^
Absolutely not! I might not think Neal is the guy for Emma, but like Dacastinson said, I'd love to see him grow as a character and get his own happy ending.
Whoever said they hope Neal dies so CS can be canon needs a rude awakening. It's disgusting and immature, really. Especially knowing that I see the same comments from SF shippers and I do get upset, so I know that person would get upset too. If you wouldn't like hearing it, why would you say the same thing about someone else's ship?
Besides, even if Neal were to die, that doesn't guarantee CaptainSwan. Just like if Hook were to die, it doesn't guarantee Swanfire. There could always be someone else that can come into the picture that we haven't met yet and sweep Emma off of her feet.
Yeah like the new character Walsh...I don't know why they think Neal dying would guarantee CS happening, they didn't say anything. The just said something like what I posted maybe worded differently. I noticed as well that they don't follow MRJ. They don't follow all of the cast, but they followed all of the main cast apart from him. I checked that because sometimes people hate the actors that portray characters. Like I hate Emma Rigby and I don't follow her but I don't say things like "I want the RQ to die". I am interested in her back story, even if I hate her.
I agree with these comments; the person is entitled to their opinion, however, I think it's unfair to wish a character would die for a ship to happen - that ship can become cannon without a death.
I hate it so much when a character is killed off for the sake of shipping and noting else. Hate the character for 'cockblocking-- whatever, want that character to have a falling out with said character of interest--fine with me, want the character dead and gone for something so trivial--not really okay in my opinion. To do so would just be such a waste of character. Now to kill Neal off to service a bigger plot-line (like perhaps a Rumple ordeal) go for it, it's good for the plot. Just don't kill a character off in order to make room for a new man in the penis parade!
And on top of that Neal doesn't have to be killed to make CS happen; him finding a new woman, moving away, moving on, Emma simply rejecting him, etc. are other options.
I mean yeah, people have the right to want a character dead in the name of shipping, but I personally think that's a silly reason. Not judging anyone who feels that way though.
I've heard SF fans saying they want Hook to die so SF will be canon. Neither side is innocent in this and not all fans weather they are CS fans or SF fans are the same.
^ Right. And I've seen comments saying it's CS fault if Neal dies. Unfortunately, I know that there are some that would blame SF if Hook were to die, but I personally would not blame anyone.
The writers have said that they have a plan and they've always had a plan, and that they don't change their plans because a group of fans disagree with the direction they're going.
I understand this and if Hook's death is a part of their plans, then so be it. Would I agree with it? No. I think Hook has a lot of potential, but it's their plans and it's their show. Not mine. As a fan, I'm along for the ride and trusting that they know where they're going.
Yeah, its quite obvious Neal will die now since everyone is confirmed for the next episode (after the death episode) so I'm sure that person will be very happy. I however won't be, Neal is not only part of my favorite ship but also my favorite male/3rd favorite character. I'll probably cry, but I won't stop watching just because SF doesn't become canon. I'll be more upset at his death as a character than SF not happening.
I think it's very likely anyway, since all the main characters are confirmed for the next episode anyway so they won't die clearly (the death is in 3x16, everyone apart from Neal is in 3x17)

Anyway, that's really immature. I wouldn't want Hook to die.

@princecatcher93 Lol I'd actually enjoy that!
