Music Question

Do you think there's any difference between your favorite artists/bands and your opinion of the greatest artists/bands?

I'm going to try to further explain this the best I can..

I notice a lot of people say their favorite bands are the greatest bands.

But I've always thought differently. My favorite bands are The Killers. They are my favorite because they are the only group of which I've listened to every single song and I really like every single one.
But I know that doesn't make them the greatest. My opinion of the greatest are peobably The Beatles and Elvis.. There are others, but I'm unsure about their status as "The Greatest"


I'm wondering if there are others around here that think the same way I do. (And I don't mean others who's preferences are similar to mine)

Yeah, I've thought about that too. In my opinion, Monrose is the greatest band of the world, but at the same time, I know they're not even close. It's about their fans, and their music. Because of their music, they will never be the greatest band of our times, because they sing "boring pop-songs". They are not unique in any way (well, perhaps exept from the one singer, her voice is amazing) and they blend in with other girlgroups. But they still got my attention, and I am glad, because they are awsome to me.

I think that there's a difference between bands that you connect to and love listening to, and bands that you think have amazing talent. You may love a band because they're catchy, you relate to them, etc., but that doesn't mean that you have to think that they're the most talented band in the world.

Well it depends on who you like!!! But i agree with you.

I think that my favourite singer who is Michael Jackson who i do believe is one of the best singers in the world - he is the king of pop after all.

Other people that i like such as queen, blondie, eurythmics, elton john are well known and famous but not considered as not the best bands or people ever.

Yes so like twenty on pilots is obviously the best band next to the 1975 but they are not the greatest bands. I like them cause they're not stupid sellouts.
