Lie to Me Question

What would happen if (when!) Lie to Me gets a third season?

I was wondering how this would work. Season 2 begins on September 28th and it will be 13 episodes like you all know. If each episode plays in a row (once a week) then it will be over December 21st, or December 28th if they skip that Christmas week for some reason.

If LTM gets its third season (it better!) then will the third season air immediatly after the second and begin sometime in January? Or will they make us wait until next September again? And instead of doing this to us, why not just make a regular-length season and have 20-24 episodes instead of a half season, so the show would run all the way through?!

Lie to Me Answers

Well Lie to Me was originally aired as a filler for Fox, so it was never intended to have a full season to begin with. I'm guessing, now that it's airing after House, Fox is giving Lie to Me a real chance to hit it big, and if it does well this season then it might be given the full 20-24 season. But not in Januray, since it's aring the same month as House (just a week later) they won't contunue it past the 1/2 point in the House because House HAS 20-24 episodes, and Lie to Me only has 13. Therefore, it won't continue past January but House will.
