What kind of person he "was"? He's still alive, just in case you didn't know.

Jimmy was supposedly a difficult person to work with and never took advice from others. He also had a low opinion on the press. This is what I read on some website, Im not really sure...

Besides the fact that he was a brilliant musician and excellent at playing the guitar, he was supposedly difficult to work with, in terms of the press, though the other members got on well with him for most of the time they were together. From what I remember, having read one of the books about Zep, he was full of energy most of the time and was a creative person. He also wrote a lot of the lyrics in the early days, but John Paul Jones began to start writing some later on, though Page never stopped, just slowed down. Near the end, however, I heard that he turned into a bit of a wanker and could be a real asshole to those around him. I guess it's probably true, as well.

Well...he was born January 9, 1943 making him 71 years old, he started to learn the guitar when he moved and there was a guitar apparently left behind by the previous owners. He took some lessons but was mostly self taught. He was a session musician for a bit before joining the Yard Birds. The Yard Birds weren't commercially successful and broke up. The name for Led Zeppelin came from Keith Moon, he said "You'll go up like a lead Zeppelin," something like that and that was the inspiration for the name. The reason it's spelled Led Zeppelin is because they didn't want audiences to mispronounce lead as "leed," Jimmy Page inspired many guitarists such as The Edge, Johnny Ramone etc to pick up a guitar and play. He is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Nobody will ever top him! There will never be another Jimmy Page.
