I liked the cartoon but the humor in the movie was way better.

Really tough question, actually. I mean, the movie is iconic and classic, but if you asked me to sit down and watch one right now, it'd be the cartoon.

The movie made me want to make independent movies and pursue a career writing, because Kevin Smith is an idol for anyone who loved comics and movies as a kid, but I honestly find myself quoting the Clerks cartoon more than the movie. I thought the cartoon was hilarious.

The humor in the movie is good for deep thought and wit, and the cartoon was good just for fun good one liners and an evil stupid Randal.

So I guess in short I should have just added a both option to this question. haha

They are both equally brilliant, but the movie wins over the cartoon because of the humour limitations that came with doing a cartoon.
