Hey everyone! I'm definitely not in a mood for writing superlong text today, so I'll just quickly tell you about my nevest creations (and probably give this article the craziest title I could ever imagine (as always)). As you know rainy, cold and windy autumn weather usually makes us want to stay at home, watch horror movies and let the overall melancholic boring atmosphere of long, dark fall evenings naturally boost our creativity and inspiration, and as long as the upcoming Halloween vibes are floating in the air there's 100% chance that the results will be... well - spooky.
I'll start with the most usual of my recent creations - The dreamcatcher, I wanted to try this interesting and beautiful web style for a long time (after I got inspired by link) and finally it's there, I changed the bottom part and very middle of the web a bit in my version and I think it turned out pretty well especially for being my first time making this kind of web. π·οΈ
The witch needlework is one of my very recent ones I finished in the end of summer. After I framed it, my mum decided that we have too many small needlework frames in the shelves and some are collecting dust in drawers after I took them off of my wall during my makeover. (Two cats in blue frames). I made most of them around 2-3 years ago. She took all the little needleworks and made this maximalist style composition of frames of corridor's wall. Mum says that if I'll make more small needleworks in the future she'll add them to the wall until it'll be completely covered in frames (I wonder where I got that passion for maximalism from? Apparently it runs in the family). I think the little witch needlework sort of feels like my self-portrait. π»
Anyway, around a week ago I decided that my room needs a bit more of visible Halloween atmosphere, which means IT'S TIME FOR DECORATING! YAY! Well, now I'll warn you, if you ever decide to paint a huge plastic embroidery hoop with acrylics - it will be a challenge. It took me whole day to paint it coat by coat while paint was stubbornly peeling off. But as you can see the final result is pretty successful (only its better to not to touch it). Actually if compared to other DIYs I have done before the Halloween loop is pretty quick and basic one. The web is simply glued together and the whole thing is decorated with pumpkins and ghost I drew on a sheet of paper and cut out, bat and most of the spiders are just black cardboard cutouts, one of the spiders is an ancient plastic toy that we usually keep on the cabinet right near the apartment entrance door and it has been scaring away guests ever since 1990s, and the other one is a little crochet one. It didn't turn out very well since the thread was pretty soft and the project too small, I had bigger crochet spider but after an hour of desperate searching for it I finally came to a conclusion that it probably ran away from home after last Halloween. The hardest part was taking good pictures of that decoration so I would be able to share it with you. As you have noticed my room's walls are pretty white and the web becomes invisible on their background. After trying all the possible angles, I finally hung it on my wardrobe cupboard's door and took a photo. π
Anyway, last but not least, there's a result of a weird crafting experiment. Well, have you ever tried to knit using crocheting hook? Now you can see what turns out if you try to do it. In the beginning I didn't think there will be a good result, but in the end I made this one-eyed green alien monster. I don't know whether to call it knitting or crocheting, I guess word knitcheting suits it pretty well. π
Anyway, enough babbling, enjoy the pictures. π¦
