Kashmir Valley
A hardcore epicurean of nature will never return back from the blissful paradise Kashmir without
applauding and praising it as the “heaven on earth”. Convocation and confluence of countless mystic
beauties attribute to the superior excellence of this blessed abode.
Srinagar
Sightseeing of Srinagar almost begins amidst the tight vigil of the jawans who patrols the city with
loaded AK-47’s. The city founded by The Mauryan Emperor Asoka is bountiful with splendid visiting
locales. The original maza of Kashmir is best enjoyed when the summer just sets in, when the
temperature will be around 2-3 degrees during the day. Hire a taxi or opt as a package tour the warm
welcome of the car drivers will make you feel at home. They try to make you more comfortable and cozy
by switching on the heaters and turn on some good music as soon as you board their vehicle. On the
way to Dal lake never miss feasting on the brewing hot pot of kheer which is deliciously prepared in the
roadside hotels. Believe me it’s lustily tempting and you would never mind craving for another.
Once you are transferred from taxi to the Dal lake, houseboats bordering the lake gorgeously excites
you. Shikara/ small boats have to be hired to reach the houseboats. Houseboat with rooms, a mini
kitchen, hall, big bath rooms with bath tubs looks like a “buoyant resort”. Chilled lake is surrounded
by mighty snow clad Himalayas and an hour shikara ride in the dawn showcases the true glamour of
the place at its best. Floating markets sells spices, handloom, shawls and hand-made jewellery. Local
photographers rush to clad you in their traditional costume and mystic accessories, take some beautiful
snaps.
Shalimar Bagh overlooking the Dal lake is another pride of Srinagar. It will be at its zenith during the
summer season with a plethora of colorful flora. Built in Islamic style, this cultural grandeur designed
and created in the 16th century was the dream child of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir.
Shankaracharya temple and Kheer Bhavani Mandir are the prominent Hindu temples here.
Gulmarg
Gulmarg, perched at an altitude of 9000 feet requires an hour drive from Srinagar. Only chained
vehicles are allowed to scale the lofty ranges in winters and early summers as the roads become slippery
and dangerous due to the melting of snow.
This heart throb of winter sports attracts lot of adventure loving national and international travelers
to enjoy skiing in the snow fed peaks. If you just like to sit back and photograph the wonders of nature
then board a Gondola or the highest cable car. Your heart beats faster as the cable car scale to sky
touching heights making you feel like a bird for quite some time. Gondola ride has two levels. The first
stage ride takes you upto 8500 feet while the second stage ride flies upto 13000 feet. However the
second level is closed during heavy snowfall.
While in summer the ice melts and makes way for fun activities such as golfing, trekking, fishing, horse
riding etc.
Pahalgam
The gateway to the Amarnath Yatra, Pahalgam is one of the wondrous tourist hangouts of Kashmir.
Located about 95 kms away from the state capital the journey itself to this enchanting bliss is itself
exciting. The serpentine roads flanked by orchards, gardens and farming lands; chunks of freshly fallen
snow and cool breeze are the patented trademarks of Kashmir. Pit stopping at several spice shops
sipping the authentic Kashmiri Khawa (a local drink), munching hot parathas or brewing maggi in a
dhaba, Ah what a delight. The excitement of the joyous journey is doubled when you encounter a mild
snowfall. The green canopy of summer will be overtaken by the milky white snowfall in winter. It is a
perfect place to relax and unwind in summer. In winter pony rides are popular; they take you to some of
the great view points which are remembered for lifetime.

Religion in India means the Great Path. It does not imply a narrow view of life. It covers all the phases of an individual's life and enables him to attain liberation by removing his ignorance. The Indian view of life has four ends, witch include the practice of virtue, acquisition of wealth, sensuous pleasures and salvation, witch is freedom from want and desire. This view of life is fully reflected in Indian art. A perfect fusion of religion and art is a real experience in India.
India is not an Asian country-nor are its people.
India may be physically part of the Asian continent but as I said again: Indian's are not Asians and so's not there country.
Let me get this straight.
India is just India-that simple.
The people who decided that "oh-India is part of the Asian continent, so therefore its an Asian country" were the british and they are WRONG (see I don't even give the word "british" a capital, 'cause I hated it how they treated the Indians there in those days)
India is part of the Persian gulf NOT Asian.
Plus half the people that live in India are not even Indians!
They are either Portuguese, Spanish or British origin!
'Cause in those, those days, India was a rich, popular country and people from Europe used to settle down there in India.
The only real native Indians are Sri Lankan's!
Lastly: If you ever thought that India was an Asian country: Think again.
Seeya and I hope that clears it!
