Children are the new generation, I think people have to be careful with them. A country has to make sure the rights children have are carried out the way they have to.

I had to think about this one a lot. In America, I think a lot is done to protect the rights of the child. But in Egypt in poor communities, children are kept from school so they can work with their families and earn money. Not because the families are purposefully keeping them from pursuing an education, but because they need what money they can get. Still, the child doesn't have the opportunity to pursue an education, which is one of the rights outlined for children in the link.

I agree with you, it's the same in the Netherlands, it's good over here but not in other parts of the world. The children there have to work and don't/can't go to school and because of that they have no opportunities to make money when they're older. So they'll probably do the same to their children. That is if no one helps them, it's like a circle and it's hard to get out of that circle if you don't have help from the outside...

Sweden is excellent about this issue

I live in Norway and children here are safe and well protected.

I live in Argentina. There are little children that have to ask for money in the streets or in the subway and now also they go to robe to live and to buy drugs, they have to work and they don´t go to school. The feeling is that nobody does nothing, the autorities here "try" to do something but with all de lazy people that work for the goberment and for the state nothing gets done. It´s really painfull to watch this and understand how unfair this is, the community helps but is not enough, becuase we need that the child rights respect more so they go to school and not to work.

In Us the "no child left behind crap" is almost meaningless!

In general the childs rights are well carried out here (the netherlands). Most children go to school and have a roof above their head.
I'm most concerned about the foreign refugees: some kids that don't have a residence permit (yet) go for a long time without school.
Also, lately there have been some cases of troubled famly's where the father/mother killed one or more of their children. In a lot of these cases the children were known with child services. The work to protect the children was not done good enough: and I believe protection from harm is a childs right.

Im from Germany. I think our child rights are very good. But still there must be done more for the child rights in other countries. It´s terrible to hear what children must experience in so many countries:(
