Is there a Greek god called Nike?

My friend says that there is a Greek god called Nike and that he is the god of sports or something like that...is it true?

Athene goddess of wisdom,war, weaving etc. is sometimes known as Athene Nike meaning Victorious Athene that is where Nike comes in. However there are also little spirits or nymphs called nikes which assist Athene in her role as Athene Nike they are not gods or godesses though.
