The vast majority of the ones I've come across offer no explanation for how the pregnancy could happen (other than ABO ones). They're just giving a gay couple a pregnancy because they want a family as part of their happily ever after, and don't want to bother with the idea of adopting, using a surrogate or having a child from a previous relationship. Or they just want to apply loads of pregnancy tropes to the gay pairing.
