So noping out of a fic would mean reading the first chapter and deciding you don't like it. Comments like "What the" and "Too weird..." are examples of noping out.
This hasn't happened to me exactly, but I've received a review for a one-shot which suggested that person wouldn't have been likely to keep reading if there had been more chapters.
The first chapter was about a character being salty about, what had happened to her and blaming someone else. Over the next chapters, she got a chance to start a new life in the same school, she had had trouble and found a new friend, that helped her with it.
I already had like 10 chapters written and this guy/girl reads the first one and only comments there, that she shouldn't act like a saint and stuff. If he had read the others or the whole fic, it probably would have made more sense to him.
