Noped out? I'm sorry, what does that mean?

I'm not sure what "noped out" means. Maybe it means that they just decided they didn't like it and quit reading?

^^ This is one of the GIFs people use when they nope out of something: link

So noping out of a fic would mean reading the first chapter and deciding you don't like it. Comments like "What the" and "Too weird..." are examples of noping out.

Oh, okay, I get it.

No, that's never happened to me but I've seen it happen to others, though.

This hasn't happened to me exactly, but I've received a review for a one-shot which suggested that person wouldn't have been likely to keep reading if there had been more chapters.

If you're referring to "leave the fic" yes.

The first chapter was about a character being salty about, what had happened to her and blaming someone else. Over the next chapters, she got a chance to start a new life in the same school, she had had trouble and found a new friend, that helped her with it.

I already had like 10 chapters written and this guy/girl reads the first one and only comments there, that she shouldn't act like a saint and stuff. If he had read the others or the whole fic, it probably would have made more sense to him.

Responded to him and he apologized
