In my opinion I think you can. You can be anything you wish, that makes you happy. If you want to be both emo and goth than yes you can :)

just because something happen to you ... you want to change your entire identity... if you want to became something by your own wish then go ahead but if you are doing this just because you are facing some problem ... then, it's my friendly advice...don't do it!!!
